I just love how everything bad always happens at the WORST POSSIBLE TIMESSSS
Of course THIS is when the weather decides to be shit
There's nothing but a crap ton of slush on our driveway and the roads are slippery af, so we ended up just taking the train to and from the hospital
Which was pretty scary since I was the one navigating lmao (I have no sense of direction and absolutely suck at navigating)
But we made it to the hospital :D We were all soaking wet because of the snow, but at least we got there and got to give my mom a bag of some things she's gonna need while she's staying at the hospital
I called my mom this morning to see how she was doing, and I can't express how painful it was to hear her
It's not as bad now, but she's still having trouble talking. The slurring isn't as bad, but she's having trouble finding words and she struggles with pronunciation
We spoke with a doctor while we were at the hospital and she said that they still didn't know what's going on with my mom. She had symptoms of a stroke, but they're still not sure if she actually had a stroke. But since the possibility is there, she's getting treated as if she had a stroke until they figure out what's going on
The good news though, is that there's no bleeding or blood clots in her brain, no tumors, and her blood vessels are fine
They have to keep her there over the night to run some more tests to get a better picture of what is going on. They even said that it could've been set off by bringing back those traumatic memories, but they still had to make sure that there's nothing wrong with her physically
My mom called me an hour or two ago with some more news. She still struggles with talking so it's a little hard to understand, but it sounded like there was something wrong with her cholesterol and that she needs a bigger dose of her medicine
They're gonna run some more tests tomorrow to make sure that that was the only problem, but hopefully it's only her cholesterol
Since her speech is still off, I'm not sure if that symptom is gonna wear off over time or not... She'll probably have to get some speech therapy if it's not better within the next few days. It's a lot better now, she's just struggling with finding words and she seems a little confused, but I'm guessing that's because of the medication she's on (it's probably making her really drowsy)
But yeah, I'm just happy that she doesn't need surgery and that she didn't have a brain tumor or something XD
