Hours, it took them hours to arrive where Sasuke suspected that Momoshiki had taken you. It wasn't easy having to deal with the feeling of hopelessness, because from what Orochimaru calculated, you should be dead by now.
And with the sight that met their eyes...Their hearts stopped. It looked as if a war had taken place, there was blood everywhere, and there was a lot of rubble. As they walked around, they even spotted an arm...Goro rushed forward noticing that that hand wasn't masculine. A loud curse left his mouth, punching the ground in desperation.
But the other continued on, until Itachi noticed your form leaning against a rock. He didn't even call out to the others as he rushed to your side. You were drenched in your own blood, but you were breathing meaning that you were alive. Though as soon as he got close, his own charms was being absorbed by your body.
It didn't matter, he placed an arm around your shoulders and the other under your knees and then hoisted you up. "How is she?" Goro questioned as he and the other noticed that Itachi had found you.
Even if you were okay, seeing you drenched in your own blood...And then seeing the severed arm didn't sit well with him. It probably didn't sit well with anyone, and Goro could see it. "What she just needs is rest."
---
He couldn't believe it, his heart wouldn't stop beating. It has been so many years that he waited for this day to arrive. Though he would have preferred to not see you in that state, but once again, you managed to survive.
Goro touched your cheek, feeling the warmth radiating from you reminding him that you were real.
After you were gone, he refused to give up on you and had set into another journey in hopes of finding you. Two years later he met Itachi, who had the same goal as him. Although Itachi never revealed the drive to his goal, Goro knew why. It hadn't been because he wanted to find you, or at least, he wanted to but he was willing to respect your decision.
It had been because his younger brother had tried to set on the same journey as Goro, but Itachi refused to let him throw away the forgiveness that had been granted to him. So Itachi wet out in that sear for his brother's sake. But of course, only for Sasuke to leave a couple of months later.
Since then the two of them set out for clues, but even then they didn't find you. After another two years, they gave up and returned to his family. Itachi lived with his family, like they used to when you saved his life.
Over the years his mother and even sister begged him to move on, even going as far as to cause him of being obsessed about you. But he wasn't obsessed, it was hard to forget the person he shared so many years with. You both shared so many moments of pain and happiness. Even when he tried to move on, like everyone else did, he couldn't. He couldn't forget the only person who despite what he had done to you, you forgave him. It was not easy to forget someone like you, and it wasn't easy to forget his first and only love.
He never really did understand those who had once said they cared for you, not when they had moved on so soon. With only a few months, they started not only to date, even came to marry and then have children.
All of that didn't matter, none of that mattered now, what really mattered was that you had returned and even if you had a family, just seeing you safe made him happy.
It has been three hours now, maybe four that they brought you to the hospital. You were fine, all you needed was to replenish your chakra and then you'll be on your feet like the strong [Name] he knew.
He grasped your hand, and smiled softly at you. His eyes returned to your face, scanning and memorizing every detail. Your skin looked flawless, no sign of wrinkles, you looked so young. If he didn't know your age, he would have assumed that you were in your early 20s. This was what once Kabuto spoke about, you stopped aging.
Lifting your hand up to his lips, he kissed it. Maybe it was wrong of him to even think about it now, but he couldn't stop himself still having the hope of one day becoming more than just your friend. But even if you chose to get married, he was just happy to be at your side. Whatever choice you made, he would respect it and be happy for you. That was what people did, be happy for those you love. He was willing to do so, as long as you were happy.
Your body began to move slowly, as you regained your conscience back. Although you didn't know who was holding your hand, you still returned the hold with a squish. He didn't want to alarm you, and he allowed you to get up slowly, only to savor the way your eyes widened in shock.
Then your face morphed in so many emotions, until a wide smile adorned your face. You didn't waste any second, as you jumped to the side and brought him into a hug. "Goro!"
A loud cry of happiness left his lips, one that he had not shown in so many years. "I'm so happy to see you too." He hugged you tighter as if he let you go, you would banish from his reach.
The two of you took a couple of minutes to remain in each other's hold until it was time to part, much to Goro's dissapointment. "Wow," you looked at him, he missed that warmth in your gaze, he missed it a lot, "you look great. But how are you? What have you been up to?"
"Ah, nothing that exciting. Just same old, same old." He was brief with his explanation, but it wasn't that simple. Just because you were hidding that didn't mean that you weren't aware of the man that had been looking for you. Though that was only for the first two years, after that you began to isolate yourself. And then you never heard of anyone else.
"What about you?" It was a question that he wants an answer to, but also a question that you didn't quite liked to talk about. He realized it when you explained him what you already explained to the rest.
"And now I am here, still not so sure if I'll stay or not. I have concidered of going back to the Sand Village. Gaara was kind enough to give me an invitation."
"Well," he rubbed the back of his neck," if you do decide to go back, you know my home is your home. You will always be welcome."
"Thank you,"this time you smiled, "when I got back, concidering mostly every one had kids, I assumed you would have mini Goros running around." At that you chuckled, but he only looked down at his feet, sadly.
So instead, you changed the subject,"Anyway, why don't we go out and get something to eat?" You rubbed your belly, but you stopped to look down at you. You weren't wearing your clothing, you were dressed in a hospital gown, and very much cleaned. "Right after I get changed...."
Goro nodded as he left to find Sakura, who was able to find you something else to dress. Then, after Itachi joined you, headed to a place to eat. The three of you ate and talked for hours, reminding you of the old times when there was just the three of you.
