The smell that hit your face was so pungent that you almost vomited, maybe Nagato was so used to it that it didn't seem to bother him.

These were two different worlds, you had been in the world of the battlefield. Unfortunately what you didn't see in the battlefield, the other world, was there even existed another part of a war.

Every one was just so busy fighting , trying to find Ayato that they neglected the smaller villages. Villages like this one, they had not been able to protect themselves and ended up being killed. They had no one to protect them, they were left alone to fend for themselves.

So all there was left of them, just their corpses. They were already decomposing that it was hard to make up their facial features. There were other bodies that looked as if some animals ate of their flesh. The most depressing part was, there were children among these corpses, even babies.

You were just passing by, so chances were, these people were not going to get a proper burial. "Wait," you told Nagato, you were going to at least try to burn their bodies. It was better than leave them like that, for animals to keep feeding from them.

"This isn't the only Village like this," he didn't stop, he continued to walk, "we won't be able to stop by every village and bring the bodies."

Looking at the corpses, you wanted to protest but if he was saying the truth, then you wouldn't be able to burn all their bodies.

"What," the silence had not bothered you that much until now. It was killing you seeing bodies and bodies, you had to find a distraction. "Years ago, I heard about the Akatsuki but I never really found out about their goal. What was it?"

"For someone traveling with Itachi Uchiha, you don't seem to know much about him." That wasn't the answer you were expecting, but he was right. It wasn't that you didn't know him. There are certain parts of people's lives that they don't want to touch, and you assumed that maybe that was one of them. That's why you never asked him about his family, or about his involvement in the Akatsuki. You were waiting for him to tell you on his own, but he never did.

"He wasn't ready to talk about it,  and I never asked out of respect." Nagato refused to answer your question, until some time passed.

"Wars are inevitable, our goal was world domination and through it, we would accomplish Peace." Through fear, as long people had fear then they would think twice about starting wars. But they were only taking the five  nations.

Unfortunately, wars were not necessarily created by a nation attacking another. "Peace," it was touching that they had taken it upon their hands to achieve it, even if they had taken the wrong way. "Peace had been accomplished for the past fifteen years. Naruto and the rest of the Kages did a tremendous job but as you can see, as long as there is someone like Ayato, wars will ways exist. There really is nothing that we can do, other than fight and put a stop to them."

"I noticed," he replied but that was the last thing he said for the couple next days. Sometimes you would take some breaks, get something to eat, sleep and then go one. "On the next Village we should be able to encounter Yahiko, another Akatsuki member."

"Very well, I'll prepare myself."

But he shook his head, finally arriving at the entrance of the village, he stopped turned around to face you. "You'll stay here, the Village should only have a few civilians. Just stay safe, I'll capture him."

A few civilians? Alive people? But the quietness coming from the Village lead to believe that it wasn't necessary alive ones. Besides, you would have to rest, you would need all of it for what was about to come. Even if you waited outside the village, you still remained on guard.
