Dang it, I lied. I said I was going to wait but I couldn't contain myself. I'm just so excited with this Tory, and I just want write and write!...So here it is, and since there were more votes for Gaara...Well he won. I hope you guys enjoy this!

---

By the time Gaara was finished with everything, it was starting to get dark outside. He wanted to speak to you as soon as possible, but with so many meetings, specially with the council, he couldn't just schedule them. Not when a war was starting to take place.

Shinki was at his side as he made his way back home, but it might as well be the best time to talk to you. "Shinki, do you know where [Name] is?"

The younger male nodded, "yes, she has been moved to one of the guest rooms in our home. The others, Madara, Obito and Izuna had left the Village. Goro left a couple of hours ago to see his family, Itachi went with him."

Home, you were at his home, it had been what he had wanted for so long. He wanted to have you in his home, but not like this of course. He had hoped that one day you would accept his declaration, and one day, you would live with him not as a guest...But as his wife.

"Thank you," he didn't say anything else as he made his way home. Shinki knew what his father was about to do, he had been there when he spoke with the Hokage. He had heard about the request and the outcome of such request.  So, he let him go alone, he had to meet up with his team, and it would be best to let him alone.
---
Each step he took it weighted heavily on his heart. He should be elated to see you answering his call as he knocked your door. His heart should raise, fluter at the sight in front of him. But standing in front of your room, seeing your form opening the door and drying your hair, offering him a smile, didn't make him feel happy like it should.

No, it made his heart shatter into pieces, knowing that you'll probably never be able to accept his declaration, and allow him to be more than your friend. Worry crossed your features as he remained silent, "are you okay?"

"May I come in? There is something that I need to talk to you about." You just welcomed him in, and with no other than the bed to sit down, you motioned for him to take a seat.

"Whatever you have to say, must be important for you to look so worried." Your voice reached his ears, it was not that he realized you had prepared to sleep. Looking away, he hesitated wondering if it would be the right time, he would just end up interrupting your sleep.

"There was a meeting with the Kages, Naruto wanted a message to be delivered to you." Seeing him look so depressed made you take a seat at his side and grabbed his hand, to reassure him that everything would be fine. "Just like The Sand Village, they were also attacked. There were a few deaths, and injured. Sarada, Sakura's daughter was one of them. But unlike the others, she is in critical condition." Each word that left his lips, it felt as if an invisible weight was crushing his chest. "She isn't going to get better, that's why Sakura wants your aid. She wants to talk to you, ask you to help Sarada."

"Poor Sakura and Sasuke," you didn't have kids, but you went through the pain of seeing your friends hurt, it was a horrible experience. So you could just image how terrible they must feel. Perhaps Sakura and you weren't on the best terms, not after what happened over two years ago. But even if you did hate Sakura, which you didn't, it wasn't Sarada's fault. If you could help her, then you would. "I'll tell Goro if he can take me there."

As expected, you rose to your feet, Gaara could detect the urgency in your voice. But he didn't let go of your hand, he tugged you back to your seat. "That's not all."

If you didn't know any better, you could have sworn that his voice sounded shaky. "Gaara?"

"Her condition is very critical but she's stable at the moment despite the intracerebral hemorrhage." There was silence, your body tensed because you knew the consequences of accepting that request. "If you help he-"

"I'll die," you finished for him, "or at least, that's highly probable."

"You're going to do it, aren't you?" He was being selfish, but how he wished that you would tell him that you were not going to help her.

Letting out a long sigh, you let go of his hand and used your hands to hold your face as you placed your elbow on your knees. "She's just a kid," and there it was, "she's still alive, it's wrong for me to just..."

"It's your life, whatever decision you make, no one  will judge you for it." His hand traveled from your upper back, to your lower back and he began to rub it trying to sooth your worry away.

Shaking your head, you straightened your back, and rubbed your neck. "If I can save her, then I'll do it."Then, you twisted your body to your left, to face him. A smile, despite the possibility of your death just hours away, you managed to smile. "I'm sorry," you began to apologize, your smile slipping away from that beautiful face of yours, "I'm so sorry."

Your hands  cupped his face, your eyes noticed a few years trailing from the corners of his eyes. It has been...Two years since you cried, but seeing him in such fragile state, it made your chest ache. How could you do this to him? With your thumbs, you cleaned his tears, but he stood up and he was about to leave the room. He didn't want you to see him like that, but you couldn't leave him like that, not now,all that pain he was feeling was your own fault.

Dying. There was a possibility that you could die, you would be exchanging your life for Sarada's life. Since you were just a kid, you always fought for survival, to stay alive. All the choices, the decisions you made only so that could be  survive. You always fought to survive, to stay alive. Death didn't particularly frightened you, at least not before but now that you had been faced with this...This choice, a choice that would end up with your death...It frightened you.

It frightened you to know that you would no longer would be able to fight for the life you wanted, for the family you wanted to form, for the children you wanted to have. Once in your life, you had desired death, but that part of your life was gone, with the support of Gaara, Itachi, Goro, Madara, Izuna, Obito...They brought the desire to live back, you wanted to live.  You wanted to live...But you wouldn't be able to live with regret, not knowing that you could safe that girl's life and you didn't.

"Please," you threw your arms around his neck and buried your face on his neck. "Please don't go."

The male didn't need to be asked twice, he returned your embrace, and he kept you in his arms until you were the one to pull away.

But he was surprised when your lips captured his, he froze, shocked. The times he had kissed you was mainly because he was the one who initiated the kiss. When the shock wore off, he kissed you back, at first slow and gentle.

Then, you swung your let over his lap, straddling him, only breaking the kiss for a few seconds, only for you to crash your lips with his again. The gentle kiss was became rougher, desperate, and as much as he wanted to continue, he couldn't. It felt wrong taking advantage of your vulnerability, of your fear which he knew you had.  "[Name].." He struggled to pull away, only for you to kiss him, "we're no-" he tried, but you didn't listen.

"P-" a kiss, "please," finally you pulled back, seating on his legs as you were breathing hard, his breathing was labored too , "stay, I want you to stay tonight. Please."

Just a look to your lips, and the two of you resumed the heated kiss. Once you began to tug at his clothing, he knew where this was going. His heart rased, not only because of the activity he was taking place in, but the thought that finally you would be his. Even if it was one night, even if it was for the last time, with a flatter of his heart, he swore he would show you tonight how much you meant to him.
