Used, that's what some people lived for. That was also his case. Kawaki knew that feeling, so he wasn't surprised when he stumbled into a very confused woman. Despite the confusion, that didn't stop her from digging holes for the bodies of people from a small village that had fallen at the mercy of Ayato.
The bodies were in such a horrific state, they were already rotting. But you tried to ignore the smell, as one by one, you buried.
When he arrived, you were almost finished burying them. So, he grew curious and approached you. When you noticed him, your eyes looked empty, and you didn't even look alarmed by the arrival. "Do you live here?" He heard you ask, you dragged your arm across your forehead, only to end up getting blood on it. "They're all dead."
At first he could not understand why you didn't recognize him, he thought that maybe it had to do because it has been over a year since he last saw you. "You don't remember me?" He needed to ask, the last time he saw you, you were at the battlefield.
That's when you snapped your head to the side so fast he was surprised your neck didn't break. "You know me?"
Raising an eyebrow, he watched you run to his side, hope, it was written all over your face. You had been so lost. "Don't you remember?"
But you shook your head. "I woke up a few hours ago, I don't know..."
"[Name], your name is [L/N], [L/N]." What happened? He was going to ask but if you didn't even remember your own name, you would not remember that either.
"[Name]...[Name].... What's your name? How do you know me?" Those questions caught him off guard and he wasn't sure if he should tell you the truth.
Jigen had spoken to him, explained that if he ever had the opportunity to get close to you, he should.
"My name is Kawaki,we met once, over a year ago. The last time I heard, you had left the battlefield with a mission in mind." No matter how much he tried, he couldn't lie to you. Seeing you was like seeing himself, they two of you had a similar past. If it had been the other way around, he wouldn't have liked to be lied to.
Looking at your hands which were covered in blood, then back at the braves, you frowned. "Battlefield? So I was right, we're in the middle of a war." Had you maybe been linked to these deaths? "What else do you know about me? What...Was the mission about?"
"Your mission," he totally dismissed the other question, "was initially to revive the Akatsuki members, but that is all I know."
"Akatsuki members?" You had to know about them before you asked anything, you has a bad feeling about this.
Kawaki watched the emotions change on your face. "They're a group of Missing Ninja, criminals."
"I...See." With a sour taste, you turned away from Kawaki. So you were a criminal too then, if you received them and if it was what it sounded like, you didn't want to know.
He was free, or at least for the time being but that freedom was cut short. "Well, isn't this a nice reunion."Jigen appeared much to Kawaki's disappointment.
With a frown, you stared at the man when you noticed the dislike in Kawaki's face. "And you are?"
The man sent Kawaki a short glance. "I...See. It doesn't matter, however I need to speak to Kawaki privately."
"Of course," Kawaki was probably the only one who could shed light on you, but whatever these two has, it was best to leave.
So you left the Village with no destination in mind. What kind of person were you? With the small portion the Kawaki was able to reveal, it looked as if you were not a kind one. What kind of person would revive criminals? And how could you revive them?
