Next morning, you woke up and although your body felt refreshed and energetic, your mind felt a bit hazy. You sat down on the cot and just gazed at the ground, for how long, you were not sure. When you snapped back to reality was when a group of ninja began to about to snow another. Now fully awake, your eyes traveled to your body, and your face felt tight. Last night you blacked out, your face was still dirty with blood. Your clothing was stiff from the blood staining it.
In front of you was a pile of clothing, clean clothing. But, before you changed you had to clean up and there was not time for that. Instead, you stood up slower than you normally do. For a moment, the haze returned by only for a few moments.
Shaking your head, you raised your speed and walked out ready to help out. Sakura was helping others, while there were other groups helping other injured people. Like yesterday, you pushed your way to the injured and got ready to work. You caught worried glances from the medic ninja, but whatever they thought kept it to themselves.
Hours passed by, flew right past you. Your actions seemed to have come on auto pilot, most of the time you had to work extra hard no regain your clarity.
Unlike yesterday, the injured that arrived has minor wounds so it didn't require as muck chakra as yesterday. Letting out a long sigh, you exited the tent and tried to massage your scalp with your fingers, but with how stiff your hair was with the dry blood, it wasn't possible.
Your gaze caught the forms of Sarada, Mitsuki and Boruto, they had grown so much since you last saw them. How old were they now? Maybe fifteen? Or maybe close to i t. Boruto and Mitsuki walked towards you while Sadara remained on her spot for a few seconds. Her movements seemed hesitant, as if she wanted to follow her tram but decided to find her mom.
"Miss [Name]," Mitsuki smiled, as he stopped just a couple of feet away from you. Boruto did the same, but Boruto was the one that caught your attention more. Naruto, he looked a lot like his father at this age.
It was not hard to smile, your gaze shifted to Mitsuki who had been kind enough to greet you. "You can call me [Name]," your eyes trailed back to Boruto, "it's shocking your resemblance with your father. It wasn't for your eye, and that mark, I would say that I was taking at him."
He cleared his throat, rather embarrassed. "So it's true then, you knew my dad when he was very young?"
"He was the first one I met when I arrived to the Hidden Leaf Village," he was and is still a bundle of sunshine. "We know each other since we were kids but because life happens, I wasn't able to spend as much time with them as I wanted."
Boruto already knew about your story, during his childhood, his mom and dad used to talk about you. Only a few things though, and he learned why. Before he married his mom, he learned that he was in love with you. After he learned about it, being a kid and all, he didn't like you. And then he met you, and as the little brat he was, he harbored hate.
After the few years that passed, he matured and came to realize that you were nothing but a kind woman and a good friend. His parents were not together anymore, but it wasn't your fault like he used to think. "I would like to apologize," it was easier to blame you than apologize, but you deserved an apology. " I blamed you for a lot of things, and it was not the right thing to do."
It was hard to get angry with a kid, and that was what he was. He was just angry because he saw his parents start to separate, and with the history that tied all of you, to him it seemed reasonable to blame you. The same with Sarada, but unlike her, now that he was more mature he realized his mistake, and he was apologizing for it. So, how could you not smile at him? "It's okay Boruto, I understood how you felt and you were just kids, you still are. But either way, I appreciate the apology."
