Right after Naruto's speech was over, he dragged you back to his office. Judging by piles of documents on his desk, he had a lot to work on. "I wasn't so sure they'll be so accepting so soon," Naruto admitted and the giant smile on his face was stuck on his face. "But it was a matter of time before they realized just," he took a seat and waiting for you to wear opposite him, "how amazing you are."

Naruto was...and always has been a ray of sunshine. So full of energy, so full of kindness. Since he was young, he had always been so determined and always wanted to protect everyone, even strangers. His attitude could always brighten the worse of your days.

But that didn't stop the image of Hinata to burden your soul, and although you didn't have anything to do with their separation...It made you feel like you were the cause.

"I should probably let you work," you tried to stand but Naruto was quick to respond.

"Don't go please," he scratched the back of his head, smiling and just...Being the ball of sunshine he is. "Doing paperwork is the hardest and it's boring," he blushed as he admitted it, "and having you here is...Just calming. I like having you here."

He pushed the documents away from him and he proceeded to stand up and walk towards you. He walked to where you were, and kneeled down, grasped both of your hands and looked up at you with that charming smile of him.

What would have happened if...If. Always the if. You didn't need to go there to know that if you had stayed and ended up with Naruto, he would have been an amazing husband as well as an amazing father. He did an amazing job with Boruto and Himawari. "I know you just arrived but, I need to tell you that I-"

Just in time, the door was opened to reveal his secretary who looked embarrassed to interrupt the moment. "Lord Hokage, I apologize but th-"

A couple of old men entered without letting the woman to continue, but by the way they glared at him they were not pleased with him. Clearing your throat, you pulled your hand from Naruto's hold, stood up but not before giving him small smile. "I'll let you guys alone."

He wanted to protest but having these men here, he decided to just walk back to his seat. They must be some council  members, and whatever they were going to talk about had to do with the time you spent inside that prison. They acted against the Hokage, stopped Naruto's message to be delivered to you and the rest and Naruto had to do something about it.

But that was for him to solve as much as you wanted to help him. The day was still far from being done, and you had so many options but only just a few got your interest. It was other to go home or go around the Village to help with whatever you could. Maybe even go to the hospital and help, but despite people accepting Naruto's decision, maybe people were not ready for it.

So, two options and...If you had to be honest you just wanted to go back to the place that had been temporarily given to you. The guilt of having Hinata see Naruto kiss you plagued your mind, and it weighted heavily on your heart. You didn't want to face her, or Boruto for that matter. At least for a few days.

Everyone else was still busy helping around the Village, so maybe, just maybe a few days would help you make the right choices before you took the easiest route which was to just leave the Village.

And that was what you did, you tried to stay away not only from Naruto but from everyone else for a couple of days. Though Naruto despite his busy day, he would visit you every single day, several times a day but you were not in your home. Or at least, that was the impression he got when you never answered the door.  After not finding you home, he would instead send you flowers and sometimes even meals he ordered and wanted it to be delivered it to you.
