It was just a matter of time, and as you expected, Goro and Itachi didn't listen to the message you left with Gaara. At first, you thought that they would since it took a long time for them to find you. But of course, since you and the trio were still investigating the disappearances, it was only a matter of time for then to find you.
But there was a lot of tension now that you faced the two males, and the boys that were set on finding you, were nowhere to be seen. You were glad, you hoped that they would just move on instead of hoping that they would find you but it was better that way.
"Stop," you walked between the five males who looked like they would attack each other any given moment. Your gaze shifted to Itachi and Goro, "I understand how everything looks right now, but they are not the enemy."
"[Name], they attacked, no, they created a war in which they took advantage of your for a whole year." Goro protested, and he wasn't wrong. The trio did start a war in while many people died, you couldn't deny it. But they've changed, they decided to secured to help people in the process. They protected a village for twelve years, they were very powerful, and they could have created another war if they so wanted to.
Letting out a sigh, you looked at Izuna, Madara and Obito. They wanted to change, and although they already started that path, they wanted to stick around to provide you with help. Besides, it looked like they were really affected by the disappearance of the people they protected, and maybe they even felt guilty. "They deserve a second change, we all do. They have proven so far that they want and can achieve that. Orochumaru caused a lot of pain, and yet he too changed. Why would they be any different?"
Goro and Itachi had also done the very same thing, they were once considered criminals. Goro because he had been forced to, Itachi because he wanted peace, and in order to achieve it he killed all of his clan. It must have been a very painful ordel. Madara, Izuna and Obito weren't entirely different.
Finally, Goro exhaled, and he rubbed his face in the process. "Well," he stopped forward now his lips forming a smile, "it's so good to finally see you." He let his guard down, and took you in his arms. The way he hugged you, and kissed your forehead, it was as if he was so afraid that if he let you go again, you'll banish right in front of him.
He pulled back, but he didn't completely let go, he placed his hands on your shoulders and just stared at your. His eyes scanning your face as if he was looking for a change or something and several times they landed on your lips. Before he did anything though, someone from the trio cleared their throat which caused him to look at them. Sighing in disappointment, he smiled at you again and then settled by kissing you on the forehead.
Once he completely pulled away, he moved aside to let you greet the other Uchiha. Itachi wasn't the most talkative, but there was smile on his face as you took him in your arms. He instantly returned the gesture, but unlike Goro, he was gentle with his hug, and very caring. The two of your remained hugging each other for a few more minutes, and then pulled back.
"Are they going to join us?" Izuna asked, and although he always spoke to you with a rather gentle tone, right now he didn't seem pleased by the idea of having someone else join the group.
"Of course we are," Goro glanced at Itachi, "although we would have liked to come sooner there were other things that got in our way."
That captured everyone's attention, now focusing on the other two for the information. "On our way we managed to encounter enemies," Itachi informed, but his eyes stuck to you, "they're unlike anything we have seen."
There was something behind his words, "what exactly?" Izuna stole your words.
"They appear to possess healing abilities," but Goro didn't have to say the rest. It was like during the last war, and it was probably why Itachi and Goro still looked suspicious of the trio. For a good reason, they had used people and have them that ability.
Raising your hand, you shook your head. "Hold on a minute, if you're blaming them, I assure you that they're not responsible."
"That's not what they think." Itachi offered, "Gaara managed to convince them that you were not danger but for the past few months all of that changed."
Gaara, you winced just thinking of all the problems you were causing him. "They think we're responsible for it?"
"Not everyone,Gaara still refuses to believe you're behind whatever is going on." Your friend answered, "so did Naruto."
Gaara has always believed in you, Naruto too. Or at least he did but his duty to his people forced him to do the opposite. Maybe it was the years of experience, but Gaara didn't care about what the council of anyone else had to say, he says did what he thought was right. It maybe you were not giving Naruto enough credit. Though, you wondered what everyone else thought about it, your friends. Did they also think you were behind it? Specially if they knew who your traveling companions were? You wouldn't blame them though, as much as you acted for the trio, they didn't leave a very good impression. So it was reasonable that they thought the worse.
Itachi knew you, and he knew what you were thinking. But things were not so easy to explain, the majority refused to think that you were behind all of this. But Sakura and a few others thought otherwise, specially since you were traveling with Izuna, Madara and Obito. They linked your appearance with all that has been happening during the past two years.
They thought that it was your way of revenge, which was so unlike you. Itachi shook his head. How could they ever think that? They really think you needed lowly means to attack Villages if you really wanted to? You were a very strong opponent, besides, you had the trio of Uchihas who were traveling with you. If you wanted, you would have attacked them long ago, you were enough to take revenge. Besides, if you wanted the trio of Uchihas would follow you to hell if you asked.
Would he do the same? Itachi wondered, would he be willing to do the very same? You had every right, they had accused you if so many things that you had nothing to do with. They treated you poorly, so, there was a reason for you to attack then if you really wanted to.
But that's not how things were, you were not taking part of it. Gaara and Naruto were able to convince the rest of the Kages and even the councils that you should be left alone, which was why your name had been removed from the Bingo Book. But with the recent events, your name and the names of the other three were placed in the Bingo Book.
"The three Kages, Jiraiya and Tobimara set out to capture you." At the mention of those names, Madara and Obito approached you, Izuna standing also at your side placing a hand on your shoulder.
"Maybe we should split up," Izuna suggested, "the only reason why you're sought after is because of us."
That wouldn't make much of a difference, "they made up their minds and that's not going to stop them. For now, we should just resume our investigation and report back to Gaara just like we have been doing."
There was a lot you four managed to find that whomever was behind the disappearances was someone named Ayato, and although it wasn't much, it was something, it was a start.
