It wasn't easy standing on your feet, they still felt like jelly and it was mostly due to the lack of use. Slowly, you made you way slowly down the road and the more you walked, the more it seemed to be familiar. This place was none other than the Hidden Leaf Village, and although you didn't have the greatest memories of this place, you didn't like it to see it like this.

Frowning, your eyes shifted from building to building, it at least what was left of them. But the longer you walked, you realized that not all the buildings looked this damaged, so that was a huge relief.

"[Name]?" The voice sounded familiar and yet unfamiliar at the same time. But looking up at one of the destroyed buildings, Iruka stood there.   Shock stretched across his features, his eyes were widened and his lips parted but no sound came out of his mouth.

"Iruka!" A smile of happiness and relief reached your lips, you tried to  join him but your body still felt weak. Instead, you stumbled forward landing on your knees. There was a small sting on your knees, but Iruka had quickly jumped to your side and helped you up.

His eyes glanced at your knees and noticed blood there, but there was no sign of injury. "How is this even possible?" It was  whisper, almost as if he was trying to convince himself that you were not an illusion.

Then he stared at your eyes, closer and he narrowed his eyes. "Your...Your eyes ..."

Whatever Momoshiki did to help you must have some sort of change in your eyes, you haven't seen it. But you didn't want to talk about it, you weren't ready and it didn't seem that important as what laid in front of you. "What happened?"

His eyes saddened as they tore away from your form and to look around the two of you. "I'm sorry you had to wake up to this." Placing his hands on your shoulders, he tried to smile but the sadness behind his eyes weighted more than that smile. "We're at war, and although this is not the main place where it is taking place, we get attacked from time to time."

"I'm sorry, i-" you tried to apologize but this time he shook his head, finally his small smile having something genuine.

"How can you say that? Did you forget you sacrificed your life to save Sarada?"

"I'm...Alive so I didn't sacrifice myself." Looking away, you pulled back and secured the lab coat so that it wouldn't slip off from your form.

"Stop it," he grabbed your shoulder and turned you back to him. The serious look on him erased the kindness that you always could see on his face, that seriousness didn't fit him. "You knew you would die and you didn't hesitate. Why do you value your life so little?"

Is that what he thought? That you didn't value your life? Taking a deep breath you smiled, "I value my life, I do, but I'm not the only one who was willing to sacrifice their life to safe someone precious to them. You did the same with Naruto." Not that Sarada was precious to you, she was precious to Sakura and Sasuke, you just couldn't let her die when she was so young and you were able to save her.

Finally he sighed in defeat, "come on, you need some clothing." But when he noticed how much trouble you had to walk, he cleared his throat. "I'll carry you." Even when you protested, he continued to peal off his coat and placed it over you shoulders and then carried you bridal style.

In an instant, he had you in front of the door of what you assumed was his apartment. He scratched the back of his head once he placed you on your feet, and then proceeded to open the door. "I don't have anything that maybe if use to you, however if you wish you can go ahead and take a shower while I go a fetch something suitable for you. Umn..For now I'll just leave something else for you to wear for the time being." He walked into his room and brought a shirt along with some pants, "this is all I have."
