Kabuto returned to get a DNA sample from the remains of   Orochumaru has a decent grasp of what they were going to use. They wouldn't be able to create a heart, but the could find a substitute for that.  But they needed some sort of DNA from the remains; Bones.

they would be able to use another heart and use the

But when he entered the tent, the items in his hands dropped to the ground as he watched you towering  over Nagato's body, your chakra circling around the two of you, and yet, not touching Nagato's body. As much as he wanted to interrupt the process, he couldn't, your chakra wouldn't allow him to.

If that was not enough, loud explosions began to shake the ground to the core. Cursing, Kabuto glanced around to spot any familiar faces. They must have already left already, so he returned back into the tent.

You were almost done, but he knew that something was going to happen, he knew it. And it was confirmed when you stumbled to your feet with your hand on your chest. The expression on your face warned him that your chest was in pain.

His legs were about to move when the man, Nagaro moved after than he did, and he caught your body before he him. That did not stop Kabuto, there was something wrong with you, and he needed to check. When he checked your vitals, his own heartbeat raised for the lack of yours. Your heart wasn't bearing, "Damn it [Name], you were supposed not wait." He set to work fast.

The explosions got closer, way to close, some rubble was sent crushing to the tent, had it not been for a wall of earth , it would have but the two of you. For just a second, his gaze turned to Nagato, who had been the cause of the wall, he protected the two of them.

Cardiopulmonary resuscitation was something that anyone could do, it was simple, but he didn't know if it would be of any use. All he needed to do was to start up your heart, that was all, then he could continue to tear your condition. But was there even a heart to begin with? There had to, there had to be a heart otherwise you wouldn't have been given those moments of consciousness after you were done.

The palms of his  hands pushed against your chest, he did it a few times, paused then pressed his ear against your chest. No heartbeat, letting out another set of curses, he continued to press against your chest, paused and then listen for a beat. Nothing, no beat, fear began to crawl over his body, but he didn't give up just yet. Nagato continued to protect the two of you.

He didn't know how long he did it, but then, then there was a set of heartbeats, they were weak but that alone gave him hope. After the next minute, you gasped with air, sat up and begant to grasp your chest as if it still hurt.

Kabuto gave you a couple of minutes to recuperate, your lungs had not been active so they needed as to get as much oxygen as possible. Finally, you raised your gaze to look at Kabuto and the back to Nagato.

Your eyes widened, a smile reaching your lips and for once, Kabuto realized that since you woke up from that comma, this had been the first time you smiled, trully smiled. "It worked," you spoke trying to stand up and him trying to help you.

Nagato watched you closely, trying to remember where he had seen you. It had been so long since he died that trying to capture any of his memories was taking time. Finally, finally he managed to remember your name. [Name] [Later Name], he had heard so much about you and there had been some times when he had seen you. It was definitely you, still young, so young that it looked as if years never bothered you.

"Do you remember who you are and why you're here?" Before Kabuto could start with the questions, you asked trying to move closer to Nagato, but you were still weak. Unconsciousness was crawling into your mind, but you just shook your head as you took a few steps forward. Sheer will was what kept our eyes open, and on your feet.

The chakra absorption was starting to show, Kabuto knew that in whatever moment you would lose consciousness so stuck to your side. "Yes, and I understand what happened." His eyes trailed to your form, your feet shook under your weight, your eyes almost rolling to the back of your head, and yet, you forced yourself to stay awake. "What is your goal?"

Unfortunately, before you answered the question your body finally gave up and you needed up again, on the ground. Kabuto wasted no time and he got to your side, he placed you on the cot that belonged to Kankuro. "We weren't sure she would succeed," Kabuto explained as he overed your body with bed sheets. "We had nothing else to work with,no heart, nothing and yet, this idiot..."

The last part was softer, more silent as if it was not meant for Nagato's ears. "What is your goal." Again, he repeated.

Kabuto opened his mouth only to pause as the explosions stopped and it was a lot quieter. "As long as Ayato keeps his clutches on all the Akatsuki members, we will get no where. That's why she thinks that it's better if she breaks that clutch he has on you and the others. Some of you may agree to join us, some may not but even so, it'll be easier to destroy that power he has on all of you."

It wasn't an easy technique, it drained you, almost stripped you from your very own life. You risked your life when you brought him to life, and all so that Ayato's power could be destroyed. There was no doubt you wanted this war to end, and you were willing to do whatever it took. "Then I will help," again his gaze traveled to your form, "but if that is your plan, she needs to be protected. Maybe you're all taking for granted, her power and abilities are of utter importance. She cannot be replaced," upon staring at the side of the tent that had fallen, he frowned, "and so far, it seems you have done a mediocre job."

What could he say? Nagato wasn't wrong from the truth. "I'll speak with everyone else, I will tell them that it worked." Sending you one last glance, Kabuto left but he would make sure that someone would be tasked for your protection.

That only left Nagato alone with you, the red haired male walked closer to your side. You looked like anyone else, ordinary, but behind that mask was a very powerful woman. Digging his fingers on his arm, he felt the pain that he had long ago, forgotten. His body was real, he was very much alive.

How was it possible for you to do such a thing? Frowning, that was not the only thing he has to worry about. He was alive, and after the war was over, what would be of him?
