People were injured and of course some dead. Nagato observed the people around, they were tired and exhausted, the gaze they had looked dull as if they were slowly losing hope. War is filled with pain and torment, Nagato was not new to it. Since he was a child he, and his friends suffered from the war that had taken place.
They had been forced to thrive for to create a new future of peace, but maybe they had taken the wrong path. In their thirst for peace, he had sacrificed lives of Innocents but Naruto taught him that there was another way. So, he enthrusted the future to Naruto and he was doing a tremendous job. For over fourteen maybe fifteen years he offered the peace that he promised.
Out there in the world there is always someone with thirst for power. Ayato didn't want just power, he loved to the pain and suffering he was causing on people. So he used children, women and civilians to cause as much pain as possible. He succeeded, Shino/Kunoichi had been deeply affected when they found themselves no other choice but to fight even if it meant killing young children. Those children, and people could not be saved, he had heard Ayato say.
Ayato had no specific goal, he just wanted war and the slaughtering of innocents . Ayato had a similar ability to yours, you could breathe life into others while Ayato's power was the opposite. Necromancy was a dark ability, he was able to raise the dead and use them.
When he received the Akatsuki deceased members, he knew about their strength and it didn't matter how many times they were killed, he would just bring them back from the dead.
Since Ayato started he knew that there was someone who could put a stop to it, he had initially tried to kill you, but with your abilities it wasn't easy. So he decided to set you up, force those you loved to push you away. Then he would take advantage of it, use you.
Then as if everything was in his favor, you decided to sacrifice your life to save Sarada, so he didn't have to worry about the threat you were to his all scheme. Of course when he talked about it, he never gave your name and it was until now that Nagato realized that he has been talking about you.
He watched your friends, all gathered around to discuss of the former attack and of course your success. Kankuro, as he recalled, furrowed his eyebrows as he stared at the ground. "Ayato knows about our plan," he began finally raising his gaze only to meet Nagato's. "Their main target was my tent, so their target was either Nagato or her."
The two of you were the only ones inside that tent, but because everyone moved quickly, they managed to counterattack. "I wasn't the target," Nagato informed, yes, it made sense but Ayato would benefit from your dead rather than free him. "She was the target, Ayato knows the threat she possess and this won't be the last attack."
"[Name] is so stubborn, how can we protect her when all she wants to do is to help." Kiba frowned, there was sorrow in his gaze.Jiraiya glanced at Nagato, then back to Kankuro. He has been the one responsible for his death, but it wasn't that he resented him, he didn't know how he would cope. "It seems that her priority to to stop Ayato from manipulating the Akatsuki members, she knows that in the long-run, it'll help us defeat him."
Iruka, maybe being the one who showed a lot more of his emotions, decided to ask what many were already thinking. "Will she survive all...Of this?"
Orochumaru noticed that Kabuto was not going to answer that question, there was just one possible outcome for all of this. "That technique puts a lot of strain on her body, and with our previous concern..I'm afraid she will only be able to bring back to life just a few members."
TenTen wanted to vomit, it felt so wrong and so unfair. "Are we...Are we going to pretend that this is alright?" She asked curling her hands in anger. "Didn't the Kages forbid her to use that technique?"
But of course, because they were at war they would agree to use it, not even taking into consideration that it would guarantee your death. "Sh-"
She glared at the person who was going to answer, Sarada, although the girl didn't seem like she would start to begin to attack you, TenTen didn't let her finish. "I know she made this choice, and I know that right now she is our only option. Or at least our best option.
"But this is not her fight, it belongs to all of us. So instead of just dumping all this responsibility on her, we also need to star doing something, and something that will guarantee us progress." A voice that they didn't expect to hear entered the tent, Gaara was accompanied by Goro, said man looked furious.
"Her idea will be kept, but it won't be prioritized. Our main goal remains the same, we will find Ayato's location and out an end to this." Gaara ordered, "make sure she is we taken care of, and this stays here. She is not to know about my decision, is that understood?
But, there was someone in the room who did not agree with the decision. Although he didn't speak, he couldn't help but notice that all these people were choosing their emotions rather than what was best to end this war.
Once the meeting was done, he walked back to the tent where he would find you. Goro and Gaara joined him, but you were unresponsive for hours, until you woke up. At first you just stared at nothing in particular, and as. Nagato observed, you looked puzzled as if you were trying to remember something.
But that puzzled expression was replaced by a wide smile as you greeted your friends. They stayed for about an hour, and for the rest of the day, it concisted of visits from all of your friends.
What he noticed from most of your visitors was the gaze of longing, one that he had seen on Yahiko whenever he saw Konan. Letting out a sigh, he waited until night arrived and you were left to rest.
Since he made it clear that he would protect you, they allowed him to stay inside your tent. "Are you still willing to continue with your plan?" What was one life in exchange for hundreds?
You were about to lie down when you heard Nagato for the first time since you woke up. "Of course, why would you ask?"
"Your plan has been rejected, they plan on keeping you safe and feed you with lies." But upon that being revealed, you didn't look surprised. It was as if you were expecting something like that. "If you plan to continue with this plan of yours, then follow me."
Standing up, he offered. You paused to consider, but it was a pause of only a few seconds before you stood up and joined him. "I'm ready then."
You didn't want to leave your friends, that must have been why you were hesitant. Nagato left the tent, only for you to hear some shuffling and then he re-entered it. "Our path is clear, come."
Maybe you were wrong to leave, you always did the same, you left without a goodbye. This was for the best, maybe you would even spare then the pain from seeing you die, if it happened.
Right now it was time to get serious, it was about time to turn the tables on Ayato and kill him. As you walked with Nagato, you only wished that whomever got to kill Ayato, they would give him a slow and painful dead. That is what he deserved.
