Tobimara wasn't lying when he said that the Hidden Leaf Village was vulnerable and mostly destroyed. Actually, if was completely destroyed, there were some buildings standing but there were huge chunks of them torn away. None of those buildings were inhabitable, which only meant that only tents were used to house most of the civilians, and everyone else.
But, that wasn't all that was damaged, people were hurt and not just physically but mentally. That was why it wasn't much of a surprise when some people's gaze were locked in your form, and Momoshiki's too. The tired gaze turned to one of rage, for a moment they didn't know what to do until they began to pick up rocks and began to throw them at you.
"Murders!" One by one started to about, other beginning to join the ones already throwing rocks at you. Said rocks wouldn't hurt you, and you couldn't blame their reactions. The first wave of rocks left some pain, Sarada quickly jumped forward to protect you from the rocks. Those rocks were no threat, and although painful, it wasn't as painful as the reminded that they were not wrong.
"Please calm down," Sarada spoke as they continued to throw rocks, you having to push her behind you, ignoring the way the rocks bounced off of your body.
"Those two are killers! Responsible for so many deaths, how can you allow them to be here!" One of the civilians shouted, so angry and yet so torn. The man's voice trembled, maybe he had lost someone and that someone was dead because of you. "If she's not here to bring me back my children, then I don't want her here."
Sarada tried to reason with them but the civilians were hurt and just suffering so much that having you in front of them was a reminder that their sons and daughters were gone.
Momoshiki looked as if he would attack any minute now, but you were surprised that he was refraining from attacking them. "Can you take me outside the Village?" Although you told him loud, with so all the notices from around you, it was as if you had whispered to him. The man nodded, as you glanced at Sarada, a few rocks had caused some small cuts on her cheek but nothing serious. "We'll wait outside the village, it doesn't matter why we're here, they don't want us here." The way she stared at you made you think that she was worried you would leave, "and I'm not going to leave. I promise."
With a quick nod, Momoshiki took you to a safer place while Sarada was left behind. No more rocks were thrown at her, and as she glanced around her, she began to feel guilty. You didn't even tried to protect yourself, and even when she stepped in front of you, you quickly pushed her behind you to protect her. It wasn't fair, she wasn't fair, and it made her hesitate as to continue with this plan.
"What's going on?" She was glad that Kakashis's voice interrupted her thoughts from going anywhere else.
"What is going on here?" One of the civilians asked, it was an older woman who seemed as if she had been crying for days. "You brought that killer to this Village, she killed so many of our children and yet, you bring her back?"
Kakashi wasn't the only one here, Iruka, Minato and Kabuto were there too. "I can imagine how all of you are feeling," Minato spoke as his eyes softened, "however, I ask you to understand her. She was manipulated by that man, a man she killed to stop this war."
But that didn't make them feel better, "easy for you to say." This time another man stepped forward, an older man, "she isn't here to bring me back my son, is she?"
Wincing, Minato looked away not able to look at him in the eye. They thought Naruto was dead, and with you here, they thought you would revive them. They were not wrong, so he had no right to try to calm them down.
"You know," the very same man let out a long breath, "maybe you're right." That made everyone look at him, even the angry civilians. "Now that I think about it, I pity her." The man shook his head, "do you all plan to do this? To ask her to bring someone to life whenever someone close to you dies? She hated it, and yet..." Turning around, he shook his head once again and walked away without finishing what he had to say.
