With how the day turned out, you decided to stay in your room for the rest of the day until night came.

Seeing Shino and Kiba, it made you realize how much you had forgotten their faces, and even their voices. A little over 12 years have passed, so it was hard to remember their faces. Maybe that’s why you also wanted to come and see them, to at least keep remembering each and one of them.

When you were getting ready to go out, there was a soft knock on the door. You grabbed a kunai from under the pillow and continued to approach the door. Making sure that your make was in place, you opened the door and ready to defend yourself if needed. But it was Shino who was standing in front of the door. “We need to speak.”

Without waiting for you to allow him in, he entered pushing you aside softly. If he was being followed it would not do anything good if these were ninja. “About that your tour?” You asked as you closed the door.

The male refused to take the seat you offered while to sat down on your bed. “Kiba has been acting a little off and I can imagine what is running through his head.”

Letting out a long sigh, you place back the kunai back into place. “I  expected him to forget my scent.” And you couldn’t find a solution to that, specially if he decided to investigate further.

“He did not, and I am afraid he is not going to let go of the issue. In anything, he’s going to trying to figure out why your scent seems familiar, which means he’s going to stick around.” It wasn’t the time, but you haven’t seen Shino speak this much before.

“I figured as much,” the mask despite wearing it for years, you could never really get used to it. And since Shino already knew that it was you, there was no need to wear it now anyway. So you let it down, and as always, it was so nice to feel the air caress your face. To be able to breath without the mask, nice fresh air. You shut your eyes and took deep breaths, for once you could breath not only the clean and fresh air, but also having someone you could trust made you relax. “I suppose I  underestimated all of you, which means that I should speed up my departure.”

“We never understood why you left,” finally he looked around for a chair and dragged it closer to the bed where he sat down. “After all the chaos left they still searched for you.”

There it was, that pain that never left you whenever you thought of your friends. It was the pain in your heart, the pain of guilt. “I know and I’ll never forgive myself from what I did." Your shoulders dropped at that, knowing that you’ll have to go back to your depressing life. Shaking your head, you covered your face and lifted the pillow to retrieve the kunai. For a few seconds you stared at it until you hid it behind your back and covered it with your shirt. “I promise that I’ll leave tomorrow evening, I just want to see the rest of them, but I’ll be careful.”

“Where are you going?” He asked eying you, as you got prepared.

“I need some fresh air to clear my mind,” you headed to the door and opened it, you glanced back as you stopped in the middle of the door, “shut the door on your way out.” It wasn’t like you had anything of value that could be stolen anyway.

Shino didn’t follow you, which you were grateful for. Though as you were outside, you stopped to try and see that there was no beetle or anything else on you that Shino could use to track you. You used a small amount of chakra to detect the beetle, and once you retrieved it you smiled to it and let it fly away back to its owner.

You had to earn money to survive, you had many options but the only one that proved to be lucrative and allowed you to lay low, were drinking contests. Men always found it rather insulting when a woman challenges them to a drinking contests, so you would always bet. By the end of the night, you always left the bar quite packed with money.
