FP had a long day at the office where he worked as psychologist while his wife was a Lieutenant Colonel. Everyday he worried for the last two years since Alice went on tour. Being the only man of a women on the army post. He and Alice had been fighting. She wanted to give up on their marriage. It took everything in him not fall apart when his wife laid down her decision. He knew she was having a hard time coping with being back, as a shrink he knew the signs of PTSD. Maybe he didn't want to think about them at the end of the day. He hadn't seen his wife in two years.

He didn't know what happened out there, but he was scared. He didn't want to let go of their marriage. After all the years, She said maybe one day she'd retire from command. But she flat out told him that she was pissed when she would wake up and he was there instead of her m40. He feared deep down she would leave him. He knew something happened to the Alice he knew and loved.

He talked to Hermione, Colonel Andrews wife about his fears. He asked if Fred returned differently and she told him they always do. A few weeks later, a black hawk went down in the Middle East and Mary's wife was on it. They still didn't know if Brook was one of the dead of the missing. Penny was new in town still when she met the gang. Her husband met her at a bar after fours after knowing her and they've known each other for seventeen days before they married. She was still getting used to all of the changes in her life. Her two sons, Malachi and Sweet Pea came with her. And FP, he had his own issues.

Mary hadn't slept since the night she last spoke to her wife. She lied to her the last time she spoke to her. Her son, Archie had been hitting her. She gave him an ultimatum. When he heard the news about his step-mother's black cop going down. He rushed home. She and Fred had a son together before they divorced and she married Brook.

He was at the hospital when Hermione came over to pick up a prescription he written for Mary to help her relax and sleep better when all of a sudden Alice's platoon solider bursts into his office.

He recognized him from his file. "Are you Colonel Smith's husband?" His name was Edger Evernever. He was talking about a little girl as pulled out a gun from behind his waist.

FP slowly backed away towards the door. Hermione tried not to shake in fear. This man had a gun pulled out of them. "Call your wife now!"

"Why do you want to talk to my wife?" FP asked coolly trying to detain the threat.

"Get your wife on the phone. NOW!" He barked, raising the gun higher. FP and Hermione exchanged a short glance before he was giving person to dial his wife.

Alice was at home when the phone rang. She was still in military uniform. She walked over to the table where the phone was set up. "Smith speaking?"

"Colonel Smith, I got your husband and a brunette here. I want to speak with you." She heard Edgar's voice chill down her spine.

"Why do you have my husband?" Alice asked as her fear stay out of her voice. But she was scared. Her and FP have been fighting a lot lately but this wasn't what she wanted.

"I want you to come and so we can talk." His voice was cold and meaningless.

"Okay. Can I speak to him?"

"Alice, baby. Just do what he says. I'm here with Hermione Apollonia. We're okay. Just do what he says." And then the phone cuts off. She was left with worry penetrating her mind. Her mistake may have caused her husband's and her boss's wife's lives.

FP listened to the story that Edgar told them as tears rolled down his cheeks. "She told me to stay out. She left the girl to be raped. I can still hear her screamed. She saved my life! We should've saved her!"

"She made the right call." Hermione said softly." The situation is unbearable, but you can't change what wasn't done."

"You feel guilty because that girl saved your life. I know you wished that you could've saved her. She didn't deserve that. My wife made a tough call. She didn't want you or the rest of your platoon to get in harm's way." He saw that man was distraught. His wife left him and took his kids. He started drinking to stop the pain from seeing that night. He'd treated many cases of PTSD.

Edgar slowly dropped the gun onto the ground and all of a sudden the room broke into a silent warfare. Hermione and FP's eyes flew open when Edgar was shot down. His blood sprayed onto his white lab coat. It all happened so fast, first he was standing and next he was no longer standing in front of them. Hermione grabbed her purse as she was escorted from the hostage area.

As soon as the door opened, Alice saw her husband walk out. She felt her heart steady as the anxiety snuck away. She could finally breathe. Her husband was safe and Evernever was dead. She knew it by the blood on his lab coat. She slowly walked passed the tape and pulled him into a tight soul crushing embrace.

Even as a solider, she still had fear. She couldn't go into a war zone with fear on her mind. That would get her killed and her command as well.

Her eyes filled with tears as she met his heartbeat. It was still racing as his chest was pressed against her sternum. Her mistake almost cost everything. She would have to make an appeal to justify why she didn't tell them that Edgar pulled a gun on her when she came to check on him at his post. But right now she just held the love of her life in her arms. Maybe this was a reality check.

She didn't want to let him go after all. She was just trying to figure herself after being alone in a war zone for the last two years. She later came clean saying that she was drinking and she becoming her mother.

"I could never hate you, Alice. We will get through this rough patch together. I'm not giving up on us. Not just yet or ever! I'm in this in the long haul, Al." He told as he held her fragile form, kissing her softly on her forehead.

No war was going to break them up. He was going to fight tooth and nail for them. She was just worth that all. All that dedication. That's what she meant to him. He was the husband of a badass soldier. And he couldn't be prouder of her than he is.

Maybe you can guess what show... it's an old one. I started re-watching it last night and it gave me this idea. This was based off the show Army Wives. I loved the show for years. FP and Alice have a complex history in this oneshot. The couple I made after was Roland and Joan from Army Wives. I highly recommend watching it. It's a very moving show.

I hope you liked it. And I thought Alice would make a badass solider. Well she's a badass either way.
