A Friday night tradition had become a regular affair at the Jones-Cooper house. All the kids were home for the weekend, including Jughead who's been studying away at Stonewall Prep boarding school. The days they had together were shorten by the distance.

Alice didn't want to cook dinner tonight. She had an exhausting day at work. She drove all over town, getting coverage of the town's events. She was exhausted by the moment she stepped in the door. She couldn't wait to relax her feet for the rest on the weekend.

"Mom, what's for dinner?" She heard Betty call from the living room.

Alice fought back a heavy sigh as she placed her coat on the rack and kicked off her shoes to the corner by the walk-in closet. The one she asked FP to fix after Hal smashed it during one of their many disagreements.

Or it was actually her fault. Hey, in her defense Hal should've never moved his fat head as she struck the red brick at him. She looked around to see Betty, sitting on the couch reading on her old Nancy Drew books that were in the bookcase across from the TV.

"I don't know, Betty." She sighed in a desperate need to sit down. "All I know is I'm not cooking tonight."

"Fine with me." She heard a gruff voice stir her towards the doorway by the descending staircase.

She turned her head, letting a bright smile appear over her exhausted frown. FP slowly descended from the stairs, and cruised closer to her. Alice giggles as his hands pull her towards him, shielding her head as his lips captures in a delightful welcome-kiss. She had missed him. He had took an extra shift at the office.

"Oh good, it's settled!" She says, pulling away from the kiss and looks around at the crew in the room.

"Not quite, Ms. Smith." Jughead interludes as he brings a pencil to his chin.

He had been working on homework Mr. Du point gave over his weekend-break. He still had to figure out what happened to Mr. Chipping. He looked up from his laptop and smiled at the fact of takeout.

Alice seems to get his point." Chinese?" FP shakes his head, looking over at JB.

"No, we had that last week Friday." She states before going back to playing Minecraft on her phone. She looks up for a second," Tacos?"

Betty rolled her eyes."My mom made them for dinner last night." She adds, not moving her eyes off her book.

Alice was getting frustrated quickly over the fact all of them were so damn picky tonight. It wasn't that hard to pick food. Dinners had become more expensive having to have family sized meals again.

Ever since moved back in, she would make dinners for them. She had to make sure Jughead had enough leftovers for the week while he was at school.

She took on the purity on what he liked to eat. Pop's wasn't something they should eat all the time. Don't get her wrong. She loved Pop's, but not all the time. She rather make a home cook meal. It also gave her some time with FP before he went to bed for the night.

The time they spend in the kitchen only strengthens their relationship. She knew Gladys didn't cook for him. He had told her on occasions during last summer that she would burn eggs and he had to force himself to eat. Even Jughead would tell her stories about how awful her cooking was. She burnt Bacon.

FP saw the slow-growing irritation sparkling on Alice's face and in her eyes. He had noticed on many occasions. The look in her eyes made people scared.

"Hey, what about Pizza?" He suggested, hoping the kids would take the bait.

Alice sighs softly to herself as she watched the move light-up with smiles and nods. "Okay, I'll order Pizza." She said as she grabbed the pizza menus from the bulletin board that was pinned to the back wall behind FP's raggedy recliner.
