Sarah, Denise, Kenzie, of course, but also Brennen, Elias, Sam and Kat, and even Kevin. The others, I understood why they were here, but Kevin? Colby must have felt the same surprise that I did. "Hey brother, what are you doing here?," he asked, clapping him on the back as he walked by him to wash his hands. "Uh, I was just stopping by, and Kenzie asked me if I wanted to stay for breakfast. You know I can't turn down food." I watched the way his eyes shot to Kenzie, and saw her face flush a little as she met his gaze, then looked down at her plate. "Oh!" I said in surprise, my eyebrows raising. Kenzie's gaze shot to mine, and she kind of grinned. They liked each other. When I thought about it, it made sense. Kevin was an amazing guy. Sweet, kind, thoughtful, and hot as hell. Honestly, I couldn't think of a better guy for her. I grinned back at her and didn't say another word. Later though, later she was giving me every single detail. I snagged a piece of bacon from Brennen's plate as he walked past me to go out the back door. "Hey!" he exclaimed, looking at me with a pout on his face. I laughed and winked at him. "Freaking females," he muttered, heading out the back with Sarah laughing behind him. "So, how did you guys sleep?" Denise asked, smirking at me. Her bedroom was right next to mine. Fuck. I knew what was coming, but was going to act normal anyway. "Really well actually. Best sleep I've had in a long time." She smirked again, broke off a piece of bacon, then popped it in her mouth. "I'll bet. My night wasn't all that great. Elias and I couldn't sleep. Too many noises coming through these thin walls." Elias choked on his coffee, while I stood there glaring at her. I knew my face was flushed, because I could feel the heat rising up in my cheeks. "I really don't like you," I said, rolling my eyes at her. She laughed, a loud, joyous sound, that echoed off the kitchen walls. Colby was ignoring us, while he dumped syrup over his pancakes. "Bitch, you love me. It's about time you got some though. Sounded like it was an AMAZING night for the both of you," Denise said, an evil, little smile on her face as her gaze went from me to Colby. I watched as he looked up, met her gaze, then looked at Elias. He grinned, and lifted his head to Colby, in sort of a congratulatory way. Like he was saying "good job brother." I didn't really think it was possible for my face to heat up any more, but I was absolutely sure that it was about to spontaneously combust. Denise, I could handle. She just loved teasing me and I did the same to her. But knowing that Elias had...heard us. That was something I didn't think I could handle. "I'm so glad we decided to go home," Sam said, grinning at Katrina. She laughed and nodded, then they grabbed their plates and followed the others out the door. Soon the only ones left were Colby and I, plus Denise and Elias. I turned away from them both, and opened the cabinet to grab my ibuprofen that Denise had put in there. My body was super sore, and the longer I was up, the worse it was starting to hurt. I had definitely done too much yesterday. Without the Percs to blanket the pain, I was going to pay for it today. I dumped out three of the large white pills in my hand, set them on the counter, then grabbed a glass to get some water out of the pitcher in the refrigerator. When I stepped past Colby to get to the refrigerator, pain shot up my hip with the way I turned. I gasped, and dropped the glass that was in my hand. I watched it, like it was in slow motion, until it hit the hard kitchen floor, and shattered, sending glass pieces flying everywhere. "Terra!" Colby yelled, rushing to my side in a second. "Ow, shit," he said, after he grabbed my arms. He let me go with one arm, and lifted his foot. A shard of glass was sticking out, blood seeping around it. "Oh no, Colby. Why don't you ever wear shoes?" I sighed, starting to lean down so that I could see his injury. "No, stop it," he said firmly, putting his foot down and holding my arm in place so that I couldn't lean down. I sighed and rolled my eyes. "Whatever. First Aid kit is in the bathroom. Go put some fucking shoes on." "Before I do that, are you okay? What happened?" he asked, staring me in the eyes with concern. "I just had a sharp pain because I turned the wrong way. I still have to be careful and I just forgot. That's all. The shock from it caused me to drop the glass. Which I need to clean up, soooo?" I motioned my head towards the shattered glass on the floor surrounding his bare feet. I groaned. "Seriously Colby, you're giving me anxiety. Go take care of that, and put your shoes on. Please." He watched me for another moment, concern lacing is face, before nodding. "I'm sure Denise doesn't mind helping clean this up. You shouldn't be leaning down like that. Let her help." He leaned in, and gave me a quick kiss, before he limped away to the bathroom. I saw blood splotches on the floor, from his injured foot. Denise stood up, grabbed the dustpan and broom, then walked over to me, avoiding the glass. She knew that I wanted to help so she gave me the broom, then leaned down, and held the dustpan out, so that I could sweep the pieces into it. She never said a word. Sometimes, I wondered how she knew me so well. I needed to help clean this up, but I didn't need too. So, she helped me figure out how to do it with the least amount of pain. I loved that girl so damn much. "Yo, you guys coming? Where's Colby? We actually need to leave soon.
