Christian's POV
As we got to the graduation, a lot of people wanted pictures with us but I had to say no because it was kinda distracting to some people and I didn't want the kids or Cassie to feel overwhelmed.
"Oh my goodness, look at him," Cassie said as Liam walked out on the field. "I remember when he was a freshman and now he's graduating."
"Crazy how time flies," I said and fixed the way Noah was sitting on my lap. At the end of the ceremony, we walked down to the field and we found Liam with his family.
"Hey Ms. Braun," Liam said and Cassie looked at me and we both laughed a little.
"Hey Liam, but it's Mrs. Yelich now," Cassie said and we both held our left hands up.
"Oh my gosh! Since when? And congratulations."
"January 8th. Thank you, and congratulations to you too," Cassie said and hugged him.
Liam introduced Cassie to his parents, and then Cassie introduced me to Liam and his family. "So what are you guys doing here? You're in the middle of your season right now."
"We came to watch you graduate silly."
"I wanted to make it out too, so I came out for the day with my family," I said and he seemed amazed.
"I can't believe this is happening right now," He said and his parents laughed.
"Well we talked about taking you out to dinner, a kinda late dinner. Would you be fine with that Mr. and Mrs. Henderson?" I asked and they looked at Liam and nodded. "Are you feeling up to it?"
"Of course, I couldn't pass this opportunity up. I just want to get a few pictures before we leave for the last time." We nodded and waited for him.
"I'll follow you guys?" Liam asked and we nodded. We walked to the car and put the kids in the car.
When we got to the restaurant, we grabbed all the gifts we got him and then met him inside.
"So a Jeep? Whose car?" Liam asked and I nodded towards Cas. "And who are these little guys?" He asked in a baby voice and the kids got shy and hid behind my leg.
"This is our oldest Mason," Cassie said and he waved a little, "And our baby Noah."
"Hi Mason and Noah, I'm Liam," He said and then he high-fived the both of them. I liked this kid already.
We got a booth table and sat down and set all the stuff down. All of us talked and then ate our food.
"So we got you a few things," Cassie said and handed him the biggest bag.
"You guys didn't have to," He said with a smile.
"Don't worry about it," I said and watched him open all the stuff up.
"All of this is going to come in hand during college," He said and then Cassie handed him another box. As he opened the box with the signed ball and bat in it, he was breathless. "Is this for real?"
"Of course," I said and we laughed at him.
"And here's this little card, we forgot to throw in the bag," Cassie said pulling it out of her purse. He opened it and looked at four Brewer's tickets for a game this summer and then he took that off and seen the check.
