Shapeshifter

[Inspired by a scene in Avengers : Civil War]

Marth and I had escaped from Hydra in the middle of a mission together. We were currently living in a very broken down apartment and tried bot to go out too much afraid we would get noticed and captured again. But unfortunately today the Avengers had found us. I shapeshifter into a kitten and Marth hid me in her jacket so we wouldn't get split up. I couldn't do much in her jacket hiding but I knew she was at ease if I she knew I was safe so instead of coming out and trying to help and most certainly get hurt I stayed in her warmth. I would peak my head out at times just to see what was happening but only when Marth was running and not fighting. Last time I did it at the wrong timing some of my hairs on my head got cut off, Marth scolded me after that. And now we were running in an underpass and I could tell we needed to get a vehicle and quick what happened next was scary but exhilarating. Marth grabbed a motorbike handle and the guy on it fell if she did a flip and landed perfectly before driving off as fast as she could. (Not sure how to describe that scene, I'll try to link it at the top)
Not sure how or who did it but the ceiling at the end got bombed and it came crumbling down. Marth had to swerve to stop us from crashing into the rubble. Marth got off the bike but got pushed down on her knees and I almost hissed but remembered I needed to stay hidden. This random guy wasn't even an avenger but he tried to push Marth to the ground but she put her hands on the floor so I wouldn't get squished between her and the concrete, which I was grateful for. "Hey dipshit, stop it." We head and from this noisy leather jacket I could hear Marth turn to look over to see who said that, he sounded familiar and his next sentence helped confirm it was none other than Iron Man. "Is she trying to kill you? No. So stop trying to piss her off." From in the jacket I could feel Marth's heartbeat get calmer probably thinking maybe their trust worthy. The Avengers then led us onto their jet which Marth was wary about but went with them, starting to trust them because her hands weren't tied up and she could have ran off. Well they were the avengers and could probably catch up in no time but still.. when we got to the Avenger's tower Bruce was giving Marth a checkup seeing if she had any injuries which she didn't really. Tony and Steve then come in and start to ask how Marth escaped Hydra and pulls up a picture of me and asks if she knew where I went. They explain that they were trying to find us knowing Hydra had kidnaped us and they wanted to help. "Why do you wanna help us?" Marth questions suspicious. "My best friend Bucky got taken by Hydra a long time ago and after I found him and learned about all the things they did to him, I became determined to help anyone else who was taken and hoping I'm not too late before they go through the same fate." Steve explains. "What will happen to us after?" Marth questions. "Well you could train and become Avengers, you could stay here and not fight the bad guys or you could change your identities and lay low." Tony says stating the possibilities. Marth stays quiet thinking of our options. We both know we love using our powers, probably the only good thing that came out of hydra. We also both hated having to stay hidden. We then heard a beep and Steve sees the notification on one of the screens which say a location. "I'll go. We need to find her quick, who knows what hydra has planned for her." Steve says getting ready to leave to find a girl who was actually right here. I quickly rubbed my head on Marth from in her jacket to get her attention. She then asks me in my head "Are you sure?" She has the power to talk through the mind but she still needs practice so she tries not to do it too much scared of what could go wrong. I pawed on her shirt as to say yes. She then said loud enough for Steve to hear, "Wait." When Steve turns around she slowly unzips her jacket to reveal me in my all black kitten form. Before Tony could make a stupid comment I shapeshift back into my human form. "I'm here.." I say shyly wishing I was still in the warm comfort of Marth's jacket. Marth sensed my discomfort so she pulled me closer to her and held my hand and squeezed it. I smile at her then turn back to see both Tony and Steve still in shock of what they just saw.
