The rest of my lunch I sat at the roof top eating and thinking of what she could have mean't. Did she mean it like she would see me at school? Or is she gonna meet me on at the staircase again? I sighed a bit annoyed that this would be on my mind all day, I probably won't be able to pay attention for the rest of today's lessons just thinking of that interaction. I didn't want to get my hopes up so I just thought she meant she would see me in school like any other day.
Next morning I was back to looking at her from across the classroom. The only difference was Marth would look back at me more times than usual. I didn't let it get to my head too much not wanting to get my hopes up and justo to conclusions. I would enjoy it while it lasts. At lunch like everyday I make my way up to the roof, sadly today it was raining but I still went there cause whenever it rained I would just sit at the staircase. As I was eating I found myself looking over at the wall I was pined on my Marth and blushing at the memory. I then hear someone clearing their throat and I pulled myself from daydreaming and towards the person who made the sound. My eyes widen seeing Marth. "Uh um hi." I stutter not at all expecting to see her. She then smirked and said "Didn't I tell you I would see you tomorrow yesterday?" "I..I thought you meant like any other day in school." I say. "May I sit?" Marth asks gesturing to the spot next to me on the step of the staircase. "Uh yea of course." I say shyly. Marth then sits next to me quite close which makes my face go red. A giggle escapes me when I see how she's sitting. "What are you laughing at?" Marth asks in a joking manner. "No..nothing." I stutter scared to say why. "Tell meeee." Marth says pushing my shoulder playfully. "It's just..you look kinda uncomfortable sitting like that." I say trying to keep myself from bursting out laughing. Marth then looks at how she's sitting, almost hugging her legs. She notices how stupid she must look and says sarcastically "The perks of being 6ft." She then laughs and I let myself laugh with her. While this is happening I can't help but notice how pretty her laugh is. Sure I've heard it sometimes but it never has sounded so real. Her smile is beautiful and I can't stop myself from smiling widely seeing her so happy. When our laughter died down there was silence for a while. Marth then asks "Do you always eat here alone?" I hesitated a bit to answer scared Marth might judge me for not having friends or being a loner. "You don't have to tell me if you don't want to." Marth says quickly when I didn't answer right away. That reassured me reminding me she wasn't like the rest. "No it's ok. I've stayed an outcast not really wanting to get noticed just trying to get through high school without drama. So yea I eat here alone, I don't have friends, it's like I don't exist." I say sad but ok with it. "Anyways, won't your friends wonder where you are? Not that I don't want you here I do,just.." I ask wondering if they would wonder where she went. "Their not really my friends..their not the type to wonder where I am when I'm not there, they hang around me but their not the type who really care for your well being." Marth says like it's facts. "We can be friends if you want. It's ok if you don't talk to me when others are around. It would probably just create drama with the entitled people anyways." I say more thinking out loud then anything. Marth noticed this and suggests "Let's definitely be friends. Not sure how everyone will react either. I can meet you here for lunch everyday? Well ease into it so we can avoid them I guess. We can be more open slowly." I smile and say "Yea I'd like that." The rest of lunch we talked then left the staircase separately.
