The DEO

As J'onn gave Olivia a tour of the DEO while Supergirl, Barry, Iris and Alex stood by the balcony. "Remind me again why you're wearing fake glasses," Kara asked Barry as he straightened them.

"Well, J'onn said President Marsdin knows you have a secret Agent boyfriend, and if she wants to meet me, I want to be able to still cover my identity so she can't ID me outside of the DEO," Barry explained, but then J'onn and Olivia approached them.

"I know the DEO's mission is to hunt renegade aliens, but that mission is going to have to adapt. You disagree, Director?" Olivia asked.

"I do, Madam President. There are aliens out there, killers who wouldn't understand the concept of the very rights you're offering them. Evil creatures who could take advantage of your good will," J'onn explained.

"I imagine the very same thing was once said about you, J'onn J'onzz but someone gave you the benefit of the doubt. Isn't it time we paid that forward? I can think of no better time than the present to extend our hand in friendship," Olivia explained.

"Even if that hand might get bitten off?" J'onn asked.

"One has to have hope," Olivia said.

"What if it's false hope?" J'onn asked.

"It's hope, J'onn. How can it be false?" Olivia asked, but then she walked away to talk to some other Agents.

When J'onn faced Alex, Barry, Kara and Iris, Iris was freaking out. "Did you hear that? That was, like, a legit quote. People are going to quote her," Iris said and Kara smiled. "Okay, well, I have to go. I'm conducting my very first interview as a reporter. Just call me if she says anything else cool, okay?"

Iris then walked away to go see Lena Luthor. Kara and Barry stared at Olivia with Alex and J'onn. "What do you think?" J'onn asked Alex.

"I think hope isn't going to catch our would-be assassin," Alex said and Barry started to nervously fiddle with his hands.

L-Corp

In Lena's office, Iris walked in with friendly smiles, as well as Lena. "Ms. Luthor," Iris said

"Lena, please. It's good to see you again, Ms. West," Lena said as she sat down at her desk.

"Well, if I'm calling you Lena," Iris said and Lena smiled.

"Iris it is. Um, if you have a parking ticket, I can have it validated for you," Lena said.

"Oh, no, no, no. That's fine, Kara flew me here. In...In her car," Iris said, and Lena didn't even question her.

"Well, I'm glad to see you decided to give reporting a shot. Although if you're here on the same day the President is in town to sign her Alien Amnesty Act, then-" Lena started.

"I must be here to ask the sister of Earth's most notorious alien-hater her take on the President's executive order," Iris said before she awkwardly smiled. Lena then got up from her desk.

"I want to show you something," she said, then she got a device and pressed a button on it.

"What is it?" Iris asked.

"It's an alien detection device that allows humans to find out who among them is not truly one of them. It's not market-ready yet. I mean, we're still developing the prototype. But we aim to have this device in every store, in every town all across America," Lena explained and Iris eyed her.

"How does it work?" She asked.

"It's just a simple skin test. Okay, let me show you what a negative response looks like," Lena said, then she placed her thumb on the scanner, and it flowed green, which meant that she was not alien. "See. Right? Now, you try."
