When Lena finished reading the article that Kara wrote, she put the magazine down and looked at Kara with a smile, who was sitting next to her on her couch. "It's a good article," Lena said.

"You flatter me. I only wrote the truth. I will always keep digging even when all the evidence points one way. There's always another side. Even when it's hard to find. Especially when it's hard to find," Kara explained before she looked at Lena.

"So, Iris and I's office is overflowing with flowers," Kara said and Lena smiled.

"Really?" Lena asked.

"Yeah. You didn't have to do that," Kara said.

"Yeah, I did. Supergirl told me that it was you and Iris who sent her. I don't know how to thank you," Lena said.

"Well, that's what friends are for," Kara said.

"I've never had friends like you and Iris before. Come to think of it, I've never had family like you. No one has ever stood up for me like that," Lena said.

"Well, now you have someone that will stand up for you. Always," Kara said and Lena smiled.

"Thank you," Lena said before they got up and hugged.

"Anytime," Kara said before they broke their hug. "Bye. Bye."

Kara walked away and out of the office and Lena sat back down, and stared at the chess game on her coffee table. "Check."
"Checkmate. I really like this game."
"Maybe you are a Luthor after all."

Iris's Apartment

Later that night, Iris's door knocked so she walked up to the door, and when she opened it, Mon-El was on the other side. "Hi. Thanks for coming," Iris said with a smile, then Mon walked in.

"Yeah, Yeah, I was, um, surprised you called after how you dashed out," Mon said as Iris closed the door.

"Yes, I wanted to apologize for that. Because I should've answered your question," Iris said as she walked over to her living area.

"Yeah, could've. Could've, should've, would've," Mon said and Iris gave him a confused look with a smile. "It's a...That's a thing I heard at the bar. It's not..."

"Yes, but I don't want to do that anymore. With you. See, uh-" Iris said before she chuckled to themselves. "I can be strong, and stand my ground when I'm protecting someone else, but when that someone is me...It's a lot harder. Cause I don't like being vulnerable."

But Mon just stared at her sternly while she smiled. "We're really different," Iris said.

"Yeah. I'm, uh, super fun. And you're hyper-critical," Mon said.

"More like, you're an arrogant dude-bro and I'm the personification of the American way," Iris said.

"I'm sorry, and I'm arrogant?" Mon asked and Iris chuckled.

"That's not the point. It's just," Iris said before she stammered a smile. "A couple years ago, my fiancé died. Out of no where. And I was finally in a good place, a good job, could finally start dating again. I thought I could have it all, but then you come along. We found out we were destined to be together, but you weren't the guy Barry said you were. I thought you were...thoughtless and selfish. And I kept writing you off. And you kept proving me wrong. But before I could even do, anything, I found out I'm dying. So, what would be the point of getting in a relationship if I'm just gonna die, like Eddie did? Why would I put someone else what I went through? But-"

Iris heavily sighed before meeting his eyes and walked up to him. "But?" Mon asked.

"But maybe...maybe I can have it all. Maybe I can risk it all...for you," Iris said and Mon heavily looked down into her eyes.

"Hi," Mon whispered.

"Hi," Iris whispered back.

But when they were about to kiss, they were interrupted when a blue flisk of light fluttered around them. They eyed the light as it fluttered its way over to Iris's window. It then turned into a white, British, tall, dark and handsome man. "Darling!" He exclaimed as Iris and Mon eyed this mysterious man confused.

"Who the hell are you?" Iris asked.

"My name is Mr. Mxyzptlk. And Iris West, I love you," Mxyzptlk said and Iris eyed him in confusion.
