Previously on Come Back To You, Abra Kadabra, a criminal from the 64th century, came to Central City, stealing from numerous tech companies and killed two guards. Gypsy returned, in pursuit of Kadabra. Kadabra offered the team the identity of Savitar in exchange for his freedom.

Against Gypsy's wishes, a desperate Joe released Kadabra, who escaped to Thawne's time vault after Gypsy failed to stop him and retrieved a power source. Kadabra also triggered an explosion that critically injured Caitlin.

Refusing to take off the necklace suppressing her powers, even though doing so could save her life, Caitlin asked Julian to perform surgery with her guidance instead. Kadabra attempted to return to his own time, having used the stolen technology to build his own time machine, but he was foiled by the team with Gypsy's help. Barry decided that the only way to save Iris' life was by traveling to the future.

Later, a still-recovering Caitlin lost consciousness and began convulsing, before her vital signs flatline. A distraught Julian ripped the necklace from her neck and her vital signs returned to normal, as her injuries healed rapidly. She awakened, but in the guise of Killer Frost, and started attacking the group with her ice powers.

Barry and Kara's Apartment

Barry was at their dining table, writing out math equations for when he needed to travel to the future, and he suddenly figured it out. "2024," he said so that Kara could hear, thinking she was paying attention to him. "According to the future article in the time vault, I'm still in Central City. There's no mention of Savitar. I'd probably trapped him in the Speed Force by then. 2024. That's the time I need to travel to. If I trapped him, I must've figured out who he was, right?" But he realized that Kara hadn't said a thing, being very uncharacteristically quiet. He turned around and saw her sitting at the couch, staring at a photo of her and Iris. "Kara?" Kara finally looked up at him as he stood up and sat next to her. "What are you doing?"

"Um, sorry, I was just thinking," Kara said before she put the photo back on the side table.

"About what?" Barry asked.

"Same as you. The future," Kara said as she looked back at Barry. "And Joe."

"What about him?" Barry asked and Kara sighed before she figured out how to say what she needed to say.

"We need to promise each other something, okay?" Kara asked and Barry slowly nodded. "If things don't go our way — if Savitar kills Iris-"

"He won't," Barry said.

"If he does-" Kara said.

"He won't," Barry said.

"If he does, Barry, we need to promise each other that we will be there for Joe. We can't let him push Cecile away. Can't let him spiral out of control. Make sure that him and Wally-" Kara started.

"Stop, okay? We're not gonna talk about this," Barry said and Kara eyed him. "Iris is not gonna die. I told you, we have a plan,"

"Barry, I need you to promise me, okay? Promise me that we're gonna make sure that Joe is okay. Mon-El has already promised Iris to do the same," Kara said before she placed her hands into his. "And more importantly, promise that we won't push each other away."
