Previously on Come Back To You, Iris was being hunted by a series of alien bounty hunters. Mon-El suspected his parents are responsible and hope that he would abandon Earth if Iris was dead. His suspicion was confirmed after J'onn telepathically interrogated one of the hunters. Iris suggested she and Mon-El meet with Rhea, his mother, to change her mind.

However, Rhea refused to listen and tried to kill Iris after hurting Kara using Kryptonite, so Mon-El agreed to leave Earth if she spares Iris's life.

Against President Marsdin's orders, J'onn helped Iris rescue Mon-El from his parents' ship and, after a fierce battle, King Lar Gand agreed to let Mon-El stay on Earth. Rhea killed Lar Gand for what she viewed as his betrayal and vowed to return to Earth to reclaim Mon-El.

Meanwhile, after an encounter with an ex-girlfriend of Maggie's, Alex learned that Maggie neglected to tell her that she cheated on the woman, prompting a frank discussion in which Alex asked Maggie to trust her with her secrets.

One morning, Kara, Iris, Mon all three faced Joe and Cecile at a table for coffee, while Cecile admired Kara's ring. "It's just beautiful. You know what, it matches the sparkle in your eyes," Cecile said and Kara smiled as Barry walked over to them with her cup of coffee.

"Aw, thank you," Kara said to Cecile before taking the cup from Barry.

"Barry, your grandfather had really good taste in jewelry," Cecile said and Barry smiled as Kara put her head on his shoulders.

"Mm-hmm. Yeah, he did," Joe said.

"Okay, so, break it down. How did it happen?" Cecile said and Kara smiled giddy again.

"Um we were at the apartment, and, um, - Barry sang to me," Kara started and Cecile gasped. "And then he proposed."

"Oh, my God, that's so romantic," Cecile said before looking at Barry. "You sing?"

"Not as good as Joe," Barry said and Joe almost choked on his coffee.

"Shut up, Barry," he said and Cecile smiled.

"Well, okay, that reminds me, my sister has six tickets that she can't use — to Hamilton," Cecile said and they all looked taken back.

"Hamilton?" Kara asked, trying to not freak out.

"On the house. I thought that maybe we could make it a triple if you guys were interested?" Cecile said.

"Uh, yeah, we're interested," Kara said as Iris smiled.

"When?" Iris asked.

"First weekend in July," Cecile said but they all tensed up. July, just months after Iris's date.

"Um, July," Iris softly said, suddenly saddened.

"Why, does that not work for you guys?" Cecile asked.

"Um- No, that works great," Mon said before he wrapped his arm around Iris. "We'll be there, all of us."
