Iris was at her desk working when suddenly Mon-El walked up to her, holding a bag full of Chinese food. "Hey!" Mon exclaimed happily, just at the sight of her well and alive. Iris looked up at him and smiled.
"Did we have a date?" She asked.
"No, no, no, no. No, I just thought I'd surprise you," Mon said before he set down the food on her desk and Iris got up. "We've got egg rolls and pot stickers, shumai. It's a veritable poo poo platter. I love saying that. Poo poo platter."
Iris smiled before she kissed him and walked around her desk. "Did you rip the seat off the toilet in the loft again and now you're just bringing Chinese food so you don't get in trouble?" Iris asked.
"That was once. That was one time," Mon said.
"Mmm-hmm," Iris hummed.
"And in my defense, you can be pretty scary when it comes to enforcing bathroom etiquette," Mon said and Iris chuckled. "No. I, um...I thought I saw my mother last night." Iris suddenly tensed up, and stared at him worried. "I didn't. Don't worry. I went and checked, and my parents' ship definitely had left for Daxam a few weeks ago. But thinking I saw her, it...I thought it would make me feel anger. But I felt, um...Other...Other stuff...I just...I hate...I hate that I still care about her."
"Hey," Iris said, which brought him down from his most inner dark thoughts and back to her eyes. "We can't force ourselves to not feel anything. Life doesn't work like that."
"On Daxam, that's exactly what we'd do. We'd drug ourselves, so we literally didn't feel anything," Mon said and Iris cupped his face.
"You're allowed to miss her. She is your mother," she said.
"Well, she's gone forever. So," Mon said and Iris softly frowned at her.
"Hey, is that Chinese food?"
They both looked to see Kara walking up to them, and they smiled. "Uh, yeah. Want an egg roll?" Iris asked.

Back in James's office, Marcus held on of his cameras while James helped him with it. "All right, so what you wanna do is twist that and lock it in," James said before Marcus did what he was told, and James smiled. "There you go. You're a natural."
"Can I take a picture of you?" Marcus asked.
"Of course," James said before he posed for the picture, but right before Marcus could take it, he saw the TVs in the background. A news report over his mother. James looked back, then changed the channel with his remote.
"My mother would never hurt anybody on purpose," Marcus said and James looked back at him.
"Do you know where she is?" James asked.
"Hey, hey!"
The two looked back to see Ella standing at the doors of the office, holding milkshakes and a bag of curly fries. "Hey, um...Marcus, give me one second," James said before he stood up and walked up to his assistant.
"You didn't say what flavor for your nephew. So, I got chocolate and vanilla," Ella said.
"I'm sure it'll be fine," James said and Ella smiled.
"Okay," she said but before she could hand the food and drinks over to him, the ground started shaking. The things in Ella's hands dropped and she screamed. Everything around them was chaotic; the tv screens were glitching, papers were flying everywhere, the lights were flickering. The two looked at Marcus, who's eyes were glowing purple, and he was slowly walking over to them. "What is your nephew doing?"
