Mon-El had a little blue alien pinned to a gate, punching him over and over again, when someone ran up behind them, heels clicking fast. "Mon-El!" Mon stopped his punching and slowly looked behind him to see who he thought it was. Iris West.

Glaring at Mon, crossing her arms. "Ah, okay, before you say anything, you should know that this gentleman here...Stand up, Brian," Mon said before he pulled the alien up.

"Hi, there," Brian said, nervously staring at Iris.

"Brian here has a bad habit of not paying back his debts promptly," Mon said.

"I do," Brian said.

"And, if his bookie wants to pay me to help him improve his habits, I mean, who am I to say no, right?" Mon asked but Iris continued to stare at him, in complete annoyance. "I mean, who's the victim here, really?"

"Run along, Brian," Iris said.

"Yes, ma'am," Brian said before he ran off, Iris and Mon keeping their eyes on each other, Mon twiddling with his fingers nervously.

"Are you kidding me? This is how you're using your powers? As muscle for hire?" Iris asked.

"It's a living," Mon said but Iris scoffed.

"A temporary living. You're supposed to help people. You cannot use your powers for money," Iris said.

"Why? Don't Kara and Barry do?" Mon asked.

"Absolutely not!" Iris snapped.

"Well, that's a missed opportunity, because-" Mon started.

"That is not the point!" Iris snapped.

"What is then?" Mon asked.

"This goes against everything you stand for. Kara, J'onn-" Iris started to say.

"Um, everything Kara stands for. Look, I never said I wanted to save the world. Things in this world cost money, and if I can make a few bucks using my powers, why shouldn't I?" Mon asked but Iris wanted to scream she was so irritated.

"Gosh, you are so selfish!" She snapped and Mon shot her a surprised look. "I don't know what else I should have expected from a-"

Mon stared at her, suddenly hurt by her words. "From what? From a Daxamite?" Mon asked.

"I didn't say that," Iris said.

"Yeah, but you were going to, Iris. Okay, I may have Kara's powers but I don't have this...This innate desire to go leaping into trouble. But that doesn't make me a bad person, all right?" Mon said and Iris's eyebrows furrowed in more annoyance. "Okay? It doesn't. You are surrounded by heroes, acting like they are Gods, but they aren't saints!"

"Excuse me?" Iris asked.

"Kara flies around, Barry runs, rescuing people, like they're just pure of heart. But that is just crap. They love that attention. They love people loving them. They are not selfless," Mon said, but as soon as he said it, he regretted it, seeing as how upset Iris got. Not of anger, but of actual disappointment.

"You are no hero. I really thought you could be, but I was wrong. I thought you-" Iris started but stopped herself, realizing she was about to admit something. "Maybe Barry was wrong. You're not my soulmate. You're just...I don't know what I was expecting."

Iris started to walk off and Mon tried to go after her, with worried eyes. "Iris-" he started but Iris turned at him.

"Don't follow me," she said and Mon stopped in his tracks, letting Iris continue to walk away from him, even though she was clearly hurt.
