Previously on Come Back To You, Mxyzptlk, an imp from the fifth dimension who can manipulate reality, proposed marriage to Iris, whose refusal he sees as a challenge. Mon-El suggested killing Mxyzptlk, which she rejected. Mxyzptlk summoned Parasite to attack National City before killing it in order to impress her. Mon-El inadvertently revealed that another way to remove imps is by getting them to say or spell their names backwards.

Later, Winn discovered a device in the DEO's collection that is connected to the same fifth dimensional energy from which Mxyzptlk draws power. Mon-El attempted to use it to duel with Mxyzptlk to the death, but Iris ended the duel by agreeing to marry him. He later arrived at the Fortress of Solitude for their wedding, but Iris stated that she will not marry him.

Angered, he attacks Kara, but she stopped the battle by locking the fortress down and activating the self-destruct sequence. Mxyzptlk begged for the code to stop the countdown but, after inputting the code, realized that it spells his name backwards, vanquishing him. Mon-El and Iris developed a romance.

Meanwhile, Winn started dating Lyra Strayd, an alien from Starhaven, and Alex and Maggie celebrated their first Valentine's Day together.

Iris's Apartment

The sun of the next day glimmered through Iris's bedroom window, but that wasn't what woke her up. It was the soft, masculine hands that curled around her waist, pulling her closer to his bare chest. "Hi," Iris hummed with a smile.

"Hi," Mon said with a smile before he kissed her neck and she giggled.

"So, uh, I had a really nice time," Iris said, her face gleaming happily.

"Yeah? Me, too," Mon said before he continued to kiss her in her ticklish spots.

Barry and Kara's Apartment

That same very morning, the morning sun woke Barry up, and he stretched over to Kara, to pull her closer to him. But when he did, Kara's side was empty. He peeked one of his eyes open to see his girlfriend was missing. "Kara?" Barry asked before he sat up confused.

He then got out of bed and walked down the stairs into the living room where he found the TV was on.

"...and it's been quite a morning for Supergirl. National City's own feminist hero in a cape has already prevented five armed robberies, delivered a litter of puppies, and given one very lucky tugboat owner some extra help hauling a tanker."

"She's done a lot more than me," Barry muttered to himself but then Supergirl flew into their open window, holding a coffee holder and flowers. Barry looked back at her and chuckled.

"Morning," Barry said.

"Hi," Kara said before she kissed him and handed him his coffee and flowers. "I got you these."

"Oh! What a gentleman," Barry said and Kara chuckled.

"Thank you. Just hang on, one sec," Kara said before she zoomed upstairs then back down in her regular clothes. "Hi."

"Hi. I have one note," Barry said but Kara looked confused as he pulled her closer to him.

"Okay?" Kara asked.
