borrowing problems from the future

Previously on Come Back To You, Barry asked Jay Garrick for help against Savitar. The two heroes, including Supergirl, located and defeated Alchemy and returned his weapon to its box, causing Savitar to disappear before he could kill Jay.

Discovering Julian to be Alchemy, Barry and Kara revealed their own identities to him to get further information. Julian related how he located the Philosopher's stone following a vision of his dead sister and that he had been having blackouts ever since. Savitar manifested through Cisco using visions of Dante and fought Barry, Kara and Wally, but Caitlin managed to convince Cisco to close the box again. The team communicated with Savitar through Julian, who claimed that Barry, in the future, will imprison him. He also said that one teammate will betray them, one will fall, and a third will suffer a fate worse than death.

Trying to end Savitar's threat, Barry and Jay threw the box into the speed force but, in the process, Barry was thrown five months into the future and witnessed Savitar killed Iris. Jay told Barry that the future is not fixed. Wally was given his own "Kid Flash" costume, Julian got Barry's job back for him, and Barry rented a new apartment for himself and Kara.

"Don't!"  Barry, Kara and Mon-El faced Savitar. All three of them, begging. "Please don't! Don't do this."

"Now," Savitar said, a couple feet in front of them, holding Iris in front of him, her crying as she looked at the fear in Mon-El's eyes. "finally, I am free of you."

"Mon-El, I love you," Iris said, which caused Mon-El to shake his head, tears forming in his eyes. "I should've said it before."

"No, don't say that, all right? You're gonna be all right," Mon said, as tears were not just forming from his eyes, but from Kara's and Barry's.

"I'm begging you, just-" Barry started.

"Mon!" Iris cried out.

"You lose, Barry," Savitar said, before a blade slashed out from his armor, and he stabbed Iris in the back.

"NO!"

Savitar let Iris go, her falling to the ground, as Barry, Kara and Mon zoomed towards her. Mon caught Iris in his arms before she fell to the ground as Savitar zoomed off. "Hey, hey, Iris," Mon said as his voice shaked, but Iris was unresponsive. Kara and Barry leaned down next to them, trying to wake Iris up as well, but she was unresponsive.

"Iris, hey...Iris, wake up. Please," Mon begged.

"No," Kara whispered, before falling into Barry's arms.

"Iris. Wake up. Come on- you gotta. Iris, Iris," Mon continued to say, but Iris just laid there, lifeless, while Kara sobbed madly into Barry's chest, and Mon screamed out in agony.

Barry & Kara's Apartment

Barry gasped awake from another nightmare, but when he did, it caused Kara to wake up too. She turned to him to see him sitting up, gasping, panting, sweating. "Babe, are you okay?" Kara asked, sitting up with him, placing her soft hand on his sweaty and shaking arm.

"Yeah...Yeah," Barry said before he kissed her cheek. "Just a bad dream. Go back to sleep."

Kara sighed before she leaned her head on his shoulder. "Sure. Totally not completely wide awake after hearing you scream in your sleep," Kara said sarcastically and Barry stiffed a smile. "You wanna talk about it?"
