Previously on Come Back To You, Winn got beaten aiding James, leading the former to believe he is not fit for field work. Kara and Iris started investigating a strange series of missing persons. The DEO tracked the kidnappings to a fake clinical trial run by aliens.

Searching for the missing people, Kara, Iris, Barry and Mon-El passed through a portal and landed on the planet Maaldoria, epicenter of the slave trade.

Realizing that they will not have their powers due to Maaldoria's red sun, the pair tracked the kidnappees to a fortress, intentionally getting captured to wind up in the same cell as the others. They learned that Roulette was involved in the trafficking.

Meanwhile, J'onn reveals that the Maaldorian atmosphere was lethal to Martians, making Alex the lead on the rescue team. She convinced Winn to join her, despite his misgivings. Kara incited a riot and the prisoners lock Roulette and her Maaldorian accomplice in the cell before escaping.

After reuniting with the DEO, they got to the portal and returned to Earth. Winn accepted his potential, while Mon-El, whom the Maaldorians intentionally allowed to leave, decided to become a superhero. Maggie tells Alex about her knowledge of Kara and Barry's alter egos.

The DEO

Iris was standing with Mon-El in the workout room, with an alien obstacle course set out for him. She looked at him sternly before getting out a timer. "You ready?" Iris asked.

"Born ready," Mon said then Iris started the time. She then pressed a button and cardboard civilians popped up, but so did a cardboard J'onn.

"Wow, you really nailed Hank's disapproving non-smile," Mon said and Iris let out a soft chuckle. But then a small metallic bot popped out, firing lasers, like the one in Star Wars. It started firing towards Mon and Iris, but he got Iris out of the way. He then jumped up onto a small box, then punched down the bot.

"End simulation," Iris said then she ended the time. "New record."

"Nailed it!" Mon exclaimed but Iris eyed a cardboard of a little girl behind Mon.

"Uh...Mon-El?" Iris asked and Mon looked behind him. The little girls head was cut off from the laser, and he looked back at Iris, with a calm expression.

"Mistakes were made. But it's our fewest cardboard fatalities yet," Mon said.

"I think you're ready," Iris said.

"Mmm-hmm," Mon hummed.

"I mean, you're dedicated. You punch really hard," Iris said.

"Not as hard as Kara. Yet," Mon said but Iris gave him a look.

"Ever," Iris said.

"Okay," Mon muttered.

"But when you deflected that laser, you hit this girl," Iris said.

"Oh, the headless one, yeah," Mon said.

"So, what is the number-one rule as heroes?" Iris asked.

"Protect the people," Mon said.

"Yes. Are we clear on the whole protect-citizens-above-all else thing?" Iris asked.

"Yes. Clear. Super clear. SuperFlash clear," Mon said but Iris gave him an annoyed look. "I'm just kidding. No, seriously, we're clear. Let's do it again."
