Streets of National City

Kara, Barry (who were walking hand in hand), Iris and Alex all walked down the sidewalk by the water port, all eyes concerned on Alex. "So, what's going on? Is something wrong?" Kara asked.

"No, no. I, um," Alex started before she cleared her throat. "Just, uh...I wanted to talk to you about something. Something about me."

"Alex, whatever it is, you can tell us," Iris said and Alex summered up a small smile.

"It's Maggie," Alex said.

"Your cop friend," Kara said and Alex nodded.

"She and I started working on a couple of cases together. And, you know, we started hanging out after work. And you know, I...I started, um...Thinking about her," Alex explained.

"I don't know what that means," Kara said, Iris and Barry agreeing with her.

"I mean...Um..." Alex started, trying to say it out in the open, clearing her throat. "I started to...Develop feelings...For her."

"Feelings? Like-" Iris started.

"Yeah, those...Those feelings," Alex said.

"Oh." The four stopped in front of a bench, and Alex stared at the three, trying to comprehend what Alex had just told them. Kara and Barry sat down while Alex and Iris stayed standing.

"So, Maggie thought that I should...Tell you. All of you. And so I did. I just...I just did," Alex said.

"So...So, she's gay?" Barry asked.

"Yeah," Alex said.

"And, are you saying, you're gay too?" Iris asked and Alex sighed.

"I don't know. I'm just trying to make sense of it all. It's so complicated," Alex explained.

"Alex, it kind of sounds like you're coming out to us," Kara said and Alex looked so confused, and worried. "Have you felt like this before?"

"Not like this," Alex said.

"Have you ever been with a girl?" Iris asked.

"No. Never," Alex said.

"Okay, what's different? I know you haven't been dating much lately-" Kara started.

"This isn't because I haven't found the right guy," Alex cut in sternly.

"I never said it was. I'm just...I'm just trying to understand, okay?" Kara said and Alex nodded.

"You know, I'm up all night, just thinking about it. And if I'm being honest, you know, I realize that...Maybe I've had thoughts like this before," Alex said and they all looked at her intrigued, before Alex sat next to Kara on the bench. "Do you remember my best friend in high school? Vicki Donahue?"

"Yeah, I remember Vicki. You guys had a really bad falling out, right?" Kara asked.

"I used to love sleeping over at her house. In her room...In her bed. And I think, uh...I think I felt something then, and it scared me. You know, because...Because next thing I knew, I'm fighting with her over something so stupid. And we just...We just drifted apart. I...I shoved that memory down so deep inside, that...It's like it never happened. I'm remembering stuff like that now," Alex explained.

"So, are you and Maggie like, um...I mean, do you know if she likes you-" Barry started to ask.

"I don't know. I..." Alex started, before looking at her family's concerned eyes at her. "I don't really want to talk about it anymore."
