Previously on Come Back To You, An Earth-19 bounty hunter named Gypsy, possessing powers similar to Cisco's, arrived on Earth-1 intending to take H. R. back to Earth-19 for trial and execution, as inter-dimensional travel is forbidden there. Cisco demanded a trial by combat for H. R.'s life, which she accepted.
As the duel is to the death, Barry, Kara and H. R. try to ambush Gypsy to save Cisco, but she easily defeated them.
Meanwhile, determined to leave a legacy, Iris persuaded Wally to help her bust an arms dealer.
While he was out scouting, she confronts the dealer, seemingly unafraid of death. Wally managed to save her. Julian discovered a flaw in Gypsy's fighting style. Cisco exploited this weakness during their battle, which allowed him to defeat her. Cisco spared Gypsy's life, but she made it clear that H. R. can never return to Earth-19, since she will state that she killed him. Joe got angry with Iris and is suspicious of her lack of fear. Barry plotted to have Wally increase his speed so that Wally can save Iris from Savitar.

When Iris walked in that night, she looked directly in the bar to see that Mon-El was working that night. And he also looked at her. Both of them really nervous. As Iris walked up to the counter, Mon slid over a drink in front of her. "Club soda on the rocks," he said and Iris started to fiddle with the straw, taking a small sip from it.
"Thank you," she said, before looking up at him, seeing him staring her down. "Uh, hey, Mon-El?"
"Yeah," Mon said.
"So, I know things have been a little weird since that conversation we had the other night," Iris said.
"Right. You know, I've been talking to some of the regulars and apparently Earth males are only supposed to express their feelings about sports and, occasionally, monster trucks. So-" Mon said.
"No, it was great that you were honest. That's actually a trait women like in men. But here's the thing," Iris said before she looked down at her drink again. "um, you were right."
She looked up at him again, still nervous as he stared into her soul. "I'm not so sure we're a good match. The newspaper thing...it's not there anymore. So, uh. That has to mean that...we're not destined for each other," Iris said and Mon painfully nodded.
"Yeah. Yeah, no. I'm just glad we're on the same page, you know," Mon said.
"I mean, I...I'm about to die," Iris said and Mon gave her a look.
"Stop saying it like that," Mon said.
"I have to be realistic, Mon-El. I can't...I can't be in...I can't just get in a relationship, knowing I'm gonna die. It...It would be- It would just end badly, cause you know...I get murdered by a lunatic speedster," Iris explained and Mon looked extremely uncomfortable talking about Iris's death. "And even if I wasn't gonna die, and did have time to date someone, I wouldn't date someone like...Someone who...Who...Who is..."
"An intergalactic bartender?" Mon asked.
"Yes!" Iris exclaimed but then realized that's not what she meant, and Mon just started laughing.
"Yes," he muttered.
"No. It's...Because it's not your job. It's...It's the way you are," Iris said, but she was just making this worse and worse. Mon frowned at her awkwardly as she kicked herself internally.
