Previously on Come Back To You, Barry, Mon-El, Cisco, and H.R. visited Tracy to seek her help in making a trap for Savitar; they were interrupted by Killer Frost, who attempted to kill Tracy, but was defeated before she escaped. Tracy went to S.T.A.R. Labs with Team Flash and was shown her future. Killer Frost later decided to kidnap Joe's girlfriend and demanded Tracy in exchange. Killer Frost's plan fails, leading to a battle between her and Cisco.
Defeated, she was whisked away by Savitar, but not before Cisco drew some of her blood in order to potentially make a cure for her powers.
Meanwhile, Joe admitted his love for Cecile and told her about Barry, Kara, and Wally's alter egos. H. R. developed feelings for Tracy.
Later, Tracy, inspired by the events, plans to build a trap for Savitar, while Barry has a revelation regarding Savitar's identity, given how much Savitar knows about everyone and confronts him outside the city. Savitar confirms Barry's new assumption and reveals himself to be a future version of Barry.

The Flash zoomed onto an empty street, and he panted heavily. "I'm here," he called out, knowing that someone was listening in. "I'M HERE!"
Suddenly, a blue and silver blur whooshed past him, and stood before Barry, just feet apart, staring deep into him, as Barry stared back at him. "I know who you are," Barry simply said.
"It's about time," Savitar said.
"Yes, it is. Everything with you is about time, isn't it? The past, the present, the future you know all of it, right? And you know everything about me! About Kara! About Joe! About Wally! About Mon-El! And Iris! You know our strengths. You know our fears -- but I know something about you too." Savitar just stared at him, with no reaction or anything. "I didn't notice it at first, but I just realized it. Every single time we apprehended you, there was a slight moment, a slight glance, when you'd look at Kara...and it's because you loved her." Again, no response from Savitar. "All this time, we thought we couldn't stop you because you were one step ahead, but that's not it! You don't just know what's gonna happen to us. You were there. You lived it. You remember when you were me."
Savitar then slowly bent down to the ground, and his armor slowly opened up to reveal a man. The man stood up from the armor, and he was wearing all black, and Barry tensed up to see he was right. The man looked exactly like him, almost like twin brothers, except this man had a burn mark on half of his face. "As I told you from the beginning, I am the future Flash," Savitar said.
Savitar walked around his powered-down suit, staring Barry down, as Barry stared him down heavily. "It's like looking in a mirror," Savitar said before he remembered. "Well..." He gestured to the burn on his face. "...not quite."
"You're not so scary without your armor," Barry said.
"What can I say? I outgrew red," Savitar said.
"I know what you are. You're a time remnant," Barry said.
"A temporal duplicate created when you run back in time and meet yourself. You brought a remnant to life last year to defeat Zoom. Your duplicate died, saving the multiverse, and you continued your happy little life. And it would've stayed that way, but then you decided to play God. You created Flashpoint and changed everything," Savitar explained and Barry shook his head in annoyance.
"I went to the future. My future self told me that he created time remnants to stop you. But you slaughtered them all," Barry said.
"All but one," Savitar said before he smiled. "Me." Barry glared him down. "I lived. But a funny thing happened when I did. You. Kara. Joe. Wally, Cisco, Mon-El. You all shunned me because I wasn't the true Barry Allen. I was an aberration. A disposable hero. Future you failed to mention that, didn't he?"
