Hayami's POV
It's been about a week since mother and Genkai came back life and things couldn't be better. The news from our parents deciding that their going to get remarried again, made my heart soar with happiness and excitement for them. Ranumi had actually been squealing ever since father proposed to mother three days ago. We told Yusuke and the others heard about the news and they were also excited about the upcoming wedding. Well mostly Botan since she wouldn't stop bothering me and Ranumi with questions on the details about special event.
Even if I did tell her all the details, I'll only say that it will be a simple garden wedding, meaning that it will take place at the park where the Sakura trees are in bloom and that family and friends are the only ones who will be invited. Of course in demon tradition, the wedding is completely different than a human wedding, but since we're in the human world, a human style wedding is appropriate. Not to mention that we're going to be practicing on walking down the aisle tomorrow before the big day.
Following that, Ranumi completely suggested for me to sing for their dance, which was a nightmare. Well for me anyway. One, I don't sing anymore and two, especially not in front of a lot of people, even if it's just our friends. But seeing that both our parents agreed and insisted, I had no choice but to accept. After all this day is made especially for them. Kurama and his mother insisted on helping out as well, which gave Shiori a chance to meet my sister as her son's boyfriend and meeting our family. Though all of us agreed to not mention the demon part until Kurama feels like he's ready to tell her soon. Koenma and Botan would also be attending.
I was currently reading the lyrics and listening for the song I'm going to sing which is "Unconditionally" by Angelika Vee. (A/N: I don't own the song nor the artist) To be honest, I actually like the song. Accepting and doing everything for the ones you love no matter what the hardships are.
I heard my balcony door opened to Hiei who entered. In truth, he has been spending time with Yukina for the past week and has really become like a big brother to her. Not to mention the way he treats Ranumi as a sister, made me, mother and father happy to see it.
Lala flew to him from my bed and landed on his shoulders and automatically taking a nap, much to his dismay. The white dragon has been like this a few times whenever Hiei came back home. But from the looks of things, he's grown used to it.
"Hi." I greeted as he came near me on my desk and looked at the paper I was holding that contains the lyrics for the song,
"This might be the first time I'll hear you sing." He said, which is true since I only sung for my family back in demon world and never to anyone else, "I'm curious to hear the voice of a water apparition, especially when it just so happens to be my mate."
"Well you have to wait until the big day, Hiei." I said as I turned off the music and looked away, "I'm not used to sharing what my voice sounds like when I'm singing. For all I know, it could attract other demons and that's what I'm trying to avoid doing. To which I haven't sung for years."
Hiei placed his right hand on top of mine, which was resting on the desk, making me look up at him. "Like I would ever let any demon fool take you away from me, Onna." He said, "And about your singing, I know that you're only doing this for your parents." He gently caressed my cheek with his other hand as I leaned in to his touch, "If you don't mind, could you also sing for me sometime."
"I bet that you'll be nagging me until I sing for you." I joke but saw him lean closer to my face, causing me to blush and to playfully push his face away as I chuckled and got up from my chair.
Hiei grabbed me by the waist and carried me bridal style, causing Lala to wake up and to land on my chair. My dearest mate spin me around in his arms and teasingly pretending to drop me.
