_________________________________Hayami's POV
"I suppose we're taking a trip down memory lane." I said, knowing that our hidden area has been a meeting place for us whenever we go and explore together. "It's been years since we've been there. Why the sudden trip though?" I asked,
"Hn. Let's just say that I want you all to myself before the day of the tournament." Hiei said making me look up at him a bit flustered. He saw my reaction and smirked. "We haven't really gotten some proper alone time together and I'd rather take the opportunity to have you."
"Hmph. Aren't you selfish." I said with sarcasm as he brought me closer to him.
"Says the woman who admitted that it was selfish of her to say that she didn't want her mate with anyone else and that I belong to her." He smirked. I turned my head away in embarrassment as I felt him kiss me on the side of it.
"I hate it when you repeat my words just to embarrass me." I said as I glance at him from the corner of my eye. "The worst part of it is that I couldn't even deny what comes out of my mouth."
Hiei chuckled and kissed my temple as he stood up, bringing me up with him. "It didn't stop me from loving you." He said as I see him glance at the graves of my family. "Even after what we have been throughout the years, you have constantly been in my mind. I want to see you happy and know that you're safe from harm, despite it being impossible."
I sighed and gently cupped his cheek with my hand, turning his gaze towards mine. "And I am happy, Hiei. I know that danger will always be anywhere around us as we go on with our lives, but we always pull through even at the toughest times." I said as I looked at the ring that I gave on his finger and took his hand in mine. "As long as I'm with you, as long as we're together, I'm not afraid of what we might face."
Hiei smiled and brought me in for a hug. "You always know what to say to me, Hayami." He said in which made me chuckle a little. He pulled away and looked back at the grave. "I'll give me word, that I would protect and care for her. I won't abandon her." He said, talking to my family's grave. I smiled at this, knowing that he has his respect for my late father and grandparents.
I wish that I could one day pay my respects to Hina as well, telling her that she has a strong and amazing son and a kind loving daughter.
Ranumi's POV
"So Hayami and Hiei are going somewhere alone?" Homura asked our parents when we heard it from them.
"That's right. After everything's that happened, we figured that they deserved some peace and alone time." Yaketsuku said,
"Since the tournament is the day after tomorrow, we'll be seeing them again there." Father said,
