Hayami's POV
"You can do it, Kai. Come to mama." I said to my baby girl as she tries to have her first walk towards. Kaida pouts as she tries to reach her hand to me while keeping a her balance on the couch. "You can do it, sweetheart. Take it slow." I said. Kaida made an attempt to walk as she balanced her self. After a four steps, she fell onto my arms, grinning happily. "Yay you did it, Kai." I congratulated my daughter and kissed her cheek affectionately. "Now let's go see your brother and father."
"There's no need for that." I heard Hiei said as I turned to see him walking towards us with our son in his arms. "I take it Kaida had her first steps." He assumed before gently sitting Kura on the fluffy carpet as he crawled his way towards his sister.
"Yeah." I said looking at the twins playing the toys gifted from our friends. "Did Kura had his first steps downstairs?" I asked looking at my husband,
"Hn." He hummed in 'yes' and rested his head on my lap, his hands on his stomach.
It has been a year since the peace between human and demons were made and the Kakai barrier had been brought down. Everyone had moved on in their lives, along with some few surprises in both human and demon worlds.
"By the way, Botan came by earlier, saying that we should all meet up at Genkai's temple." I said to Hiei while raking my fingers through his hair. "I suppose it's a way to update Genkai on what's happening so far."
"Hn. They can go there for all I care." Hiei said before sighing and turning his head towards the twins. "Yukina would be happy to see them. In the very least, Lala would be able to help you watch over the two. Let alone play with them."
"You do know that Ranumi and the others are gonna be with us." I said, pointing out the obvious,
"I know. I just won't be able to be there the whole time. My shift in the border patrol will be tomorrow and I'll be back sometime in the afternoon." He informed then looked up at me. "I'll still watch over the three of you while I'm away."
I smiled at him. "There's no need for that, plus Yusuke, Kuwabara and Kurama will be there anyways if things took a turn." I said, moving my hands and cradled the back on his head. "Besides, I know you would want to get stronger for the next Demon World tournament, even if it's still two years away. I'm not saying that I don't want you here. I just don't want you to feel like you're being pulled back because of us." I explained,
Hiei reached out his hand and gently brushed his knuckles against my cheek. "You and the kids are not pulling me back, Onna. I'd rather be here for the three of you if anything else." He said,
Before I could say anything, Kuraokami stood up and started climbing onto Hiei's torso with Kaida following her older twin. Hiei smiled warmly at them and helped our son on top of him as he lays on his stomach. Kaida stood up on her two chubby feet and held onto her father for support on her balance. I smiled at the sight seeing this simple relax bonding we have. Just forgetting all our problems for a while and enjoy our time together.
It's really just what any family would want to do.
