A Day in a waiting

Hayami's POV

I groggily opened my eyes from the sunlights beaming through the window, waking me up from my sleep. I felt I short pain on my legs as I sat up, suddenly remembering my 'punishment' that Hiei gave. At least we had the decency to wash and clean up after that late night activity.

I looked to my side to see Hiei was not present as I took noticed that he wasn't in the room.

'Where could he be this early?' I asked myself in thought as I got up from the bed and started getting ready for the day. It would've been faster if the slight pain on legs didn't slow me down. 'Damn it, Hiei. You maybe my beloved mate but you didn't have to get too rough with me.' I thought in a pout with a slight annoyance.

Either way, it's not like I didn't enjoyed it. I love every moment we've spent, even if we're newly mates and that we've known each other for years.

After I got ready for the day, I went outside of the room me and Hiei shared, only to see my father sitting on the couch in the living room reading a book. He looked up at me and smiled.

"Morning dear, had a good night's rest?" He asked before turning his attention back to his book.

I walk over him and kissed his cheek. "Morning to you too, father. So where are the others?" I asked sitting beside him,

"Yusuke and Hiei went out to train. The girl's are in their room just next door to this one. Kurama and Ranumi are currently on their way to the stadium to watch the other fights and Kuwabara is somewhat trying to find some of you." Father said as he took a coffee cup from the table and gave it to me as he grabbed the other for himself. "Hiei actually left early this morning, saying that he wanted to master the darkness flame. He asked me to tell you to not follow him and that he didn't want you to worry. He said he'll be training near the rock shore on the east part of the island."

I sighed, "Just thinking about him training to master the darkness flame is already making me worry." I said taking a long sip of my cup. "His arm isn't fully healed yet despite all I did in trying to healing and it's making me worry since he might never use his arm after using it on Zeru yesterday."

"Yes, I'll admit that it was unexpected that he could actually perform the darkness technique. Yet since he is a fire demon, I suppose it's possible for him to master the dragon." Father said taking a sip of his cup, "I just hope we wouldn't push himself too hard that it could kill him while training, since I know if that happens, it'll break your heart seeing as he is your mate." He looked at me with concerned eyes,

"I know Hiei is strong and I have faith in him. I just wish that he wouldn't over do it and he would consider on taking small break from training." I said, suddenly feeling a sting like pain on my right arm to where I was holding my cup. "Mastering the darkness flame is a big risk, but he would only train it in order to protect me. Not to mention that I could already feel a slight pain in my arm, meaning that he's already in pain."
