Hayami's POV
All of us were now in the forest, just outside of Genkai's temple walls as the SDF are busy making Takumi's and Yusuke's passage to demon world. While waiting, we watch Yusuke bid his goodbye to Puu.
"Hayami." I heard Takumi called me as I turned to face him. "May I speak with you in private?" He asked,
I turned to my family and Hiei for confirmation. They gave a nod while Hiei just shrugged his shoulders but agreed. I looked back at Takumi and nodded my head as he led me away in a good distance from the others.
"Hayami, is your departure to demon world sure?" Takumi asked,
"What does that mean?" I asked,
"I just want to make sure that you won't have any regrets in coming there, especially since you've learned some hidden things about our family." Takumi said, "Are you sure you're ready to face what lies in the darkest part of your life?"
"Well there is no going back on it." I said before crossing my arms, "Besides, it doesn't help me from being curious of knowing who or what Namiyo is, especially my true father... I just want the answers from him the most."
Takumi smiled softly. "Don't worry, I'm sure you'll get your answers soon. Even though I know that you handle it on your own, but I made a promise to my sister that I would protect you once you're there." He said as his face turned serious, "Though I will give you a heads up on Mari. Once you have entered that main part of the territorial grounds, whatever you do, do not mention anything about your personal life out loud. She will use that against you." He warned me,
Right, that Mari bitch is so gonna die after nearly killing me. As I looked at Takumi, I noticed that he has to birthstones on his neck.
"Why do you have two?" I asked, pointing at his two gemstones,
Takumi looked down at his stones before smiling softly as he took one of them. The red one specifically. "I don't really have two. As you know, female water apparitions cries a tear gem when a child is born. The orange one is mine while the red is my sister's." He explained,
"I thought mother's gemstone is the pink one." I said in confusion,
"Oh, that was just a part of her clothing." He chuckled as he said, "This is Wakumi's gemstone." He said as he gave me the red tear gem. "Wakumi gave her gemstone to me, saying that if I ever miss her while she's away, I would always look back at her gem, letting me know that she's still alive somewhere."
"What do you mean by 'still alive'?" I asked,
"When a water apparition dies, their birthstone will turn into a bloodstone automatically." He explained sadly, "When I first felt like my world shift stopped for a second, I knew something was wrong. That's when I saw Wakumi's tear gem turning into a bloodstone, letting me fear that the bond between twins have been broken and that my sister was dead. Until just 21 years ago, the gem miraculously reverted back." He said, "It gave me the hope that I know it has to be sign of Wakumi coming back to life and that her family wasn't gone. I've been searching from time to time until the tunnel. You know rest."
"I suppose family loyalty is a family line." I said,
"We water apparitions are protective of our families and that's what makes us stronger, because we know that no matter the circumstances, we'll always be there for each other." Takumi said, making me a bit surprise, "I will admit, for other demons it sounds disgusting since it's almost human to them. But then again, that's just our nature."
"I see." I said in understanding,
"It's best if you go back to your mate." He said, "I'll see you in two days then."
