Hayami's POV
Coming through the portal back to the human world made me a little dizzy, unlike the other times. Probably because I'm having the twins. We all ended up near the long stairway leading towards Genkai's temple. Hard to even believe that it has been nearly twenty-two years since we first came to the human world after our mother first passed away.
"Brings back memories, right Hayami." Ranumi said to me as she looked at the long stairs.
"Yeah. To think that we came here to have a new start and move on from the pain of losing mother that day, we'd be reminiscing our first days in the human world from where our healing began." I said as a cool breeze blows from the afternoon air.
"At least now you two would be having new memories." Father said as he placed a hand on each of me and Ranumi's shoulder, "Even after the tournament has ended, this is a fresh start for everyone."
"Right." Ranumi said smiling brightly at us,
"Anyway, shall we go up." I suggested, my hand gesturing the stairs,
"Yes. I'm sure Master Genkai would want to know what transpired in demon world." Kurama said,
"Hn." Hiei hummed as we all walked the stairs. This is gonna take a while.
"I'm more excited to finally meet Yukina." Homura said, "Though it would be an honor to also meet the famous psychic herself."
"You'll probably end up with your head on the ground if you bombarded them with questions." Hiei said to her then smirked, "Your loud mouth is what made you annoying."
"FYI baby brother!" Homura yelled at his smug face, "If it wasn't for me trash talking to Mari about her crap and beating her stupid face, you mate would've ended up doubting herself some more!" She said, "Not to mention I did told you the other thing about the Darkness Flame and the part where you couldn't tame the dragon itself!" She added, which struck a vein as Hiei turned to glare at her,
"You and your loud mouth." He said with a growl,
"At least this loud mouth knows how to save her friends from bitches and prove a point to her own arrogant little brother!" Homura retorted as received a growl from him,
"Alright you two, that's enough arguing for one day." Yaketsuku said before one of his children gave each other another retort.
"This is just too entertaining to watch." Ranumi whispered to me,
"I know. I'm laughing on the inside." I whispered back to her as we just kept walking up the stairs. I can't help but smirk. "Seeing Hiei argue with his family is pretty adorable."
"Speaking of family." Ranumi said as she turned to Kurama, "Kurama, shouldn't you go back to your family? They're probably worried about you after not being home for a while."
"You needn't worry, Ranumi." Kurama said, "I've told my mother that I would return in two weeks before my second fight back in demon world. I would be staying with Master Genkai for today and go home by tomorrow." He explained,
"It's good to know that you have informed her." Father said to him, "At least it would ease her worried about you being away for long periods."
"Yes. I wouldn't want her to worry anymore for me. After all, I am content with the life I have right now." Kurama said as he looked at his girlfriend with a loving gaze. "Though she requested that Ranumi would join us for dinner some time. I'm truth, she wanted to spend some time quality time with her, as treating her as her own daughter."
Ranumi blushed at the request. "Sure, I don't really mind. Besides, I want to apologize to her personally about not being able to come to their wedding." She said to him,
