Third POV

Hiei woke up with his eyes opening, seeing a white ceiling above him before looking around to see that his mate, Hayami cleaning the blade of her sword. She was sitting on a chair next to the bed.

"O-Onna..." He called her a bit hoarsely, but got her attention and smiled warmly at him,

"Glad you're awake." Hayami said as she sheathed her blade back before helping him sit up. "You've been sleeping for a full day now."

"A full day?!" Hiei asked in a shout of disbelief. "Then what happened to the tournament?"

She nodded, "To answer your question, the third round are done. Both me and Kurama lost the third in our fights shortly, while the rest of our family are going to be fighting in the fourth rounds of the tournament. Mukuro and Homura are fighting against each other in the third round and haven't called the victor yet. Yusuke has advanced as well." Hayami explained the events, "Also, your sister wanted to give you this." She handed a blue Firestone necklace in his hand. "It was shed by her mother when she was born. She wants you to hold onto it for now until the end of the tournament."

"Hn. She didn't have to give it to me." Hiei said as he inspected the stone in his hand. It felt warm and it gave him a calming effect that soothes him, much like his and Yukina's stone. "I'm not trusted when it comes to something important."

"Oh really? Why do you think Yukina gave you her stone if she didn't trust her own brother?" Hayami taunted and just received a glare from him. "Let's just say that this is Homura's way of saying she trust you. Besides, you're her younger brother and she cares about you and your sister. That also goes to Yaketsuku."

"What about him?" He asked, having the feeling of humiliation of how he performed the Darkness Flame in front of his own father.

"He said that he was impressed that his own son mastered the technique in a much younger age than he was when he mastered it." Hayami said, much to Hiei's surprise. She chuckled, "You should've seen the look on his face. Your father was proud after seeing you use the Darkness Flame. In fact, he told me that he mastered the technique when he was 500 years old."

Hiei couldn't speak as his chest felt fuzzy in hearing that Yaketsuku, his father was proud of him. Despite his stubborn pride of being distant and cold to others around him, he couldn't help but feel the longing of having a father who told that he was proud of him as his own son. He got up from the bed and kneeled down in front of Hayami, leaning his face close to her belly.

"When you two are brought into this world, you're both going to have a loving family that will be waiting." Hiei said, talking softly to his growing children inside of his mate. Hayami blushed and smiled warmly at this. "Both me and your mother will love you both for eternity."

"Hiei..." Hayami said, feeling her chest light with happiness to what she's hearing from him. Hiei leaned further and kissed her stomach lovingly towards their growing baby twins. "You'll make a wonderful father. I know you will."

"And you'll make an excellent mother to them." The fire demon said as he caressed her stomach gently and looked her. "After all, I'm still up for our promise after this." He said,

"Right, because I also promised to marry you and I did caught my mother's bouquet, making me your bride." Hayami said as they both chuckled, "Either way, I'm willing to spend the rest of my life with you..." she said, looking at her stomach and placing a hand on Hiei's. "Along with them."

Hiei gave a genuine smile as he stood up and was about to leaned in for a kiss...

A knock on the door interrupted the moment, much to his displeasure.
