Hiei's POV
"Excuse me, what?!" Takumi asked in shock,
"You heard me." Ryuji said, his voice hinting in anger, "Ever since Mari removed the mark of her mate, her body is not only recovering slowly from injuries, but it refuses any kind of healing powers from anyone due to the loss of having a mate." He explained, "The only way to really save her is for someone to make her their mate. Thus letting her body feed some of the energy of that mate, just enough to stabilize her."
I knew the risk of having Hayami to be my mate, but I never thought that things would go this bad. First she had to have her heart broken from hearing the contract and that blame was solely on me. Then her mark had forcibly been removed, causing nothing but more pain for her and now this. All of her pain was because of my mistake and now I'm the only one who could save her life from fading.
'How ironic.' I thought, knowing that it is the truth.
The only thing I want for Hayami is to live her life without suffering those heartache feelings. Yet I'm the reason why she's like this in the first place.
"So, the brat is still clinging to life. How pathetic." We all heard a voice and turned to see a white haired demon with two purple horns and red eyes. I glared in disgust to see how she has no respect to herself in showing her body. Then this must be that Mari demon Wakumi told us about.
"Although, I will admit that her resistance is quite admirable but still quite pathetic." She sinisterly grinned as she eyed at everyone before her eyes landing on me. I know what that look meant and I didn't appreciate it. "I suppose you must be that Hiei guy she had mated with. She sure chose such a small yet handsome demon, but it's clear the she deluded herself for believing that someone like you could actually love something like her." Mari said and chuckled, making my blood boil for saying those things. "I should just finish her off to save everyone the trouble of dealing with her. After all, she's nothing more but a slutty girl that is born as a sin for demons to possess such lowly emotions. Love will always be their weakness. How pathetic."
"THAT'S IT!!!" Homura cried out in anger as she was about to launch herself towards Mari, but only to be stopped by her father. "YOU'RE THE PATHETIC ONE!!! Hayami was in her vulnerability and you took advantage of this to make her weaker and for what!?! To erase her from this world because of your desperation for your stupid attention and power?! You have been trying to kill her from the start, before she was even born!" She yelled as she tried to get out of her father's hold, despite the dark flaming aura of her body that radiates her anger,
"I will not let some stupid halfbreed stop my plan to seize Namiyo's throne." Mari said,
"And I will not let you get a way in killing my daughter's life and mine for it!" Wakumi said as she stood up and glared at Mari. "I knew you hated me from the start and would do anything to get rid of me through that loud mouth of yours." She said as she walked and grabbed the hilt of the sword she gave Hayami, "I was fine with it, believing that you'll open your eyes to one day see that there is another way than the path you've chose. Yet you decided to drag my two daughters, especially my eldest in to our feud. There isn't a punishment worthy of you being alive by my father, and for that, I will give you the punishment that is fitting for when you hurt a child." She then gave a through raging glare at Mari which made the pathetic demon flinch in cowardliness. "The rage of a mother."
"Hah! You're much weaker than me right now, Wakumi. You couldn't defeat me with your powers this low." Mari scoffed at this, "And demons still feared their so called 'Queen of Oceans'. Your daughter was no better for being called the 'Princess of Oceans'. Human emotions are so pathetic, it what made her weak to begin with."
