Third POV
'This is bad. This is bad. This is really bad. Kurama still can't move for a few more minutes and his spirit energy is trapped in him. His very much defenseless against Toya.' Ranumi thought in worry as she looked at the two fighters in the ring.
'My arms and legs are still down by Gama's first curse, that I could live with. My energy trapped inside, I could not.' Kurama thought in frustration of his condition.
Koto then announced that the fight will now begin, having Toya and Kurama fight in the ring.
"Prepare yourself. I'll make this quick." Toya said to Kurama,
"Damn. This is wrong." Yusuke said,
"How could they make him fight. Darn it, if I was stronger I could help out." Kuwabara said as he tried to stand up, "I'm letting down my team and now he's gonna die."
"Try to relax." Botan said assisting him, "You'll get them back once you're healed." She then looked at Ranumi who was beside Yusuke and was shaking in worry for their teammate. 'Poor girl. She has to witness Kurama fighting defenseless again.' She thought sadly.
In the medical tent, Hiei was sitting on the table with Hayami standing in front of him as he just gave her and embrace which she welcomed it fully. Even if they're stuck inside the force field, they can do nothing but watch and wait until they have recovered some strength.
"It's hopeless." Hiei said looking at the ring as he still has Hayami in his arms.
"Kurama still has one weapon he could use." Hayami said making Hiei look at her in question. "And that's time. The first curse should wear off soon, it'll give Kurama a chance to at least get away and avoid Toya's attack. Hopefully by doing this, he could regain a bit of his spirit energy too."
"That's nice, Onna, but I'd rather stay realistic." Hiei said kissing the side of her head before looking at the ring.
"Please, answer this to me first." Kurama said to Toya who has his full attention. "Why? The shinobi have always dealt with their affairs in secret. Why expose yourself now?" He asked,
"For light." Toya answered after a small pause.
"Explain." Kurama said,
"It's simple. Even the strongest tree will die if it was left in the dark." Toya said, "I find it the best way to describe us. A giant oak crashing onto a dark soil, bringing order into another chaotic land. The shinobi has done it's job for centuries and done it well. But in recent years, we've caught glimpses of the outside world and asked 'why not us? Have we not earned the privilege of others that take for free?'. We will be entering a new era and we will begin with a land of our own, this island. It has already been arranged that if we win this tournament, Hanging Neck Island will be our prize. And once this blinding light pores over us all like branches, we will cover the world."
