Hayami's POV

We all went towards the injured Kuwabara who was being attended by Botan and Ranumi.

"So how's he doing?" Yusuke asked,

"Not to great. It's nothing severe but he will need some time to recover." Botan said,

"He has a lot of hard bruises. I'll just use my healing powers to ease his pain and he could recover from there." Ranumi said as she placed her hands on his chest and back, healing both sides of him.

"So you removed those bandages." I heard father say as he stood next to Hiei.

I looked down at my hand, "I did and having me perform that cleaning chant was necessary in order to kill the veruka." I explained, "Those three don't deserve to die and I want to have human blood spilled in my hands, especially in this tournament."

"Dear, what you did was a noble act." Father said placing a hand on my shoulder. "You saved three innocent lives that are at the brink of death. Your mother would be proud of you."

I smiled at him, "Thank you father." I said as Hiei approached me.

"Hayami are you hurting anywhere?" He asked inspecting for any wounds as he gently cupped my head.

I chuckled, "Hiei, I'm alright." I said holding his wrists carefully. "I may have just drained half of my energy, but I'll be just fine."

Hiei sighed in relief before pulling me into an embrace as I gladly returned it. I saw Yusuke smiling giddily and Kurama just wore a simple smile. Father said that he'll go back to the girls.

Of course it was interrupted by the crowd of demons who where trash talking at us.

"Oh shove it where it hurts!" Yusuke said to them as the committee speak went on.

"MAY I HAVE YOUR ATTENTION PLEASE! THE THIRD ROUND OF THE DARK TOURNAMENT WILL BEGIN IMMEDIATELY!"

"WHAT?! GIVE ME A BREAK" Yusuke said angrily,

"FURTHERMORE, THE TOURNAMENT COMMITTEE HAS UNANIMOUSLY DECIDED TO BEGIN THE ROUND ACCORDING TO THE MATCH DIAGRAM, STARTING FROM THE LEFT. TEAM URAMESHI AND TEAM MASHO, PLEASE REPORT TO THE RING IMMEDIATELY." The announcement said,

"What again?" Hiei said,

"They're trying to kill us, now that some of us are worn out after fighting the doctor's team." I said in annoyance.

Yusuke went to complain to Koto and that she said she was neutral to the whole fights. Ranumi came back in the ring running.

"Is that committee serious?! You guys just had your fights." Ranumi said, "Hayami, you're drained of half your energy, Kuwabara can't move from pain and Hiei still can't use his arm." She pointed out.

"True, but I'm not too physically injured. Just drained of energy, but I could still fight in some way." I said,

"It's obvious that the committee is against us. Considering some of us are worn out or unable to use some parts of our body." Kurama said as he looked at Hiei's arm.

We got on the ring with Ranumi staying close to it as we see a tornado came in, revealing five cloaked figures in front of us.

But what got my attention was the familiar wind we felt from team Masho.

"Why do I got the feeling that this will be a tough one?" Yusuke asked,

'Please don't tell me I'm going to fight my best friend.' I thought, not wanting to fight one of my closest demon friends in the tournament.
