Third POV

"So you really never thought of me as a tool for some stupid aggreement or anything?" Hayami asked Hiei for like the hundredth time, still unsure of herself despite that she gave him a second chance.

"Like I would ever do that to you." Hiei said in which Hayami gave him a deadpan, "I admit that I first thought of it as a two win situation, but the longer I thought about it as I've search, I knew that I should've told you. But knowing you, you wouldn't forgive me and would continue to ignore me for good." He said turning his head away from her in guilt and sadness, "I just didn't want to loose you, despite that I did want you to be my mate."

"Well you weren't wrong when you said that I'm not gonna forgive you and ignore you for good." Hayami admitted bluntly to which Hiei looked back at her dumbfounded, "But either way, I would've accepted you. Though your actions is something I would never forgive and you should've told me from the start, at least neither of us would have to deal with keeping things in for ourselves. Besides, all I ask of you is to be honest with me. That's all." She said to him, his expression softening as he sighed as gently held her hand. "After all, other than my family, I trust you the most."

"Again, I'm sorry for not telling you." Hiei said to her,

"Just to let you know, it'll take a while for me to trust you again." She informed him, as he nodded in understanding. Hayami sighed as she removed the covers off of her and got up from the bed. "Well, since I'm awake, I might as well let my uncle know about this."

"So you consider Takumi as family now?" Hiei asked in curiosity, his back facing her as he grabs the sheath of her sword and inspecting the blade after pulling the hilt out a little.

"Yeah. He doesn't seems bad and he has been taking good care of me and Ranumi, along with your family. Even Namiyo who took the chance and speak with when I was depressed." Hayami said after changing into her white off shoulder dress and starts putting on her knee-high boots. She glance behind her and noticed Hiei froze for a second at the mention of his family. "I'm guessing that you still don't see Homura and Yakestuku as your sister and father after meeting them." She said

"It's still overwhelming for me to know that me and Yukina have another family here." Hiei admitted as he took his birthstone out from his shirt and stared at it. "Even after talking, or rather argue with Homura, I could tell that she cares about you and I'm fine with that. But I wouldn't call her my sister, despite that. I haven't spoke to Yaketsuku, but after seeing how he cared for Homura while you were knocked unconscious, I could tell that he's a good man. But I wouldn't call him father even if I do look like him a little."

"Figures you and Homura would argue and that you'd refuse to call them family." Hayami scoffs and smirked, making Hiei turn his back and glare at her, "Then again, arrogance and stubbornness runs in your family blood." She added,

"Shut up, Onna! You have no room to talk!" Hiei yelled at her in embarrassment to which Hayami ignored as she wears her teal vest clothing. Though in the inside she was laughing as a smirk made it's way to her lips. After tying the ribbon on her back of her clothing, she braided two parts of her hair and tied them both with her frilled hair tie on the back of her head.

Hayami made her way towards the door with Hiei following behind as they left the room while carrying his mate's sword. Once out of the room, the halfbreed was met by Homura tackling her to the floor, or rather a crashing hug.

"Nice to see you, Homura." Hayami greeted nonchalantly seeing how the front of her body is facing floor while the female fire demon was on top of her.

"Great to have you awake." Homura replied,

"Right. And who has the right mind to... Oh I don't know, TACKLE SOMEONE WHO JUST WOKE UP?!!!" Hayami yelled in sudden annoyance making Homura flinch. It was rare for her to see her friend's inner demon in anger and it always frightens her.
