Hayami's POV
It has been two days after Sakyo blew up the stadium and our team being the new champions of the dark tournament. Right after we all had gotten back safely to the hotel, all of us fixed our wounds and had a much needed rest after using if all our energy during the fights.
The next day, Jin and the others said their goodbyes and in hopes that we'll see each other again. Jin gave me a bear hug, much to Hiei's annoyance. Ranumi hugged Toya, hoping to see him in better circumstances. Yusuke and Chu wrestled each other in goodbye as they all left the island.
Today is now our last stay and for us to all go back home. I'm currently packing my clothes into my bag in our shared room. Hiei helped me of course, but an excuse to be with me the whole morning much to my amusement. He also helped Yukina in packing her things as well. Suddenly the our door opened to see Ranumi coming in.
"Morning, Botan was wondering if you would like to join us in saying our goodbyes to Genkai later." Ranumi said,
"Sure. I don't mind." Yukina said as Lala flew and settled on her shoulder, snuggling its head with hers,
"What about you two?" She asked me and Hiei,
"I won't mind, but I think we're gonna have to get Yusuke out of his room first." I said, knowing that Yusuke hasn't moved on from Genkai's passing, "We'll just meet at the lobby later."
"Sure, father we'll be with us and I'm sure you guys can help Yusuke." She said as she turned to Yukina, "Let's go, Yukina."
"Right." The ice maiden said as they both exited the room, closing the door behind them,
I sighed and walked over to the window as I looked at the view of the early morning of the island. Resting my arms on the windowsill as my thoughts went on about Genkai. I felt Hiei's presence coming near as he wrapped his arms around my waist and resting his chin on my right shoulder.
"What's on your mind?" Hiei asked as I continued to stare at the view in from of me,
"Nothing. Just thinking about the wish that we were supposed to be given." I said,
"What about it?" He asked,
"To be honest... I actually wished for two things." I said sadly, "The first would obviously having Genkai back to life..."
"And the second?"
"That I could wish for mother to also be brought back to life." I said, "Even if the Toguros are gone and that her death was avenged, it doesn't help the fact that she's longer with us among the living." I felt my voice trembled as tears starts to form in my eyes, "She's been gone for 20 years yet I still longed for her." Tears starts to fall from my face as my body trembled in sadness and released a shaky sigh, "As much as I want her back, I knew it would be selfish of me to even asked of that... I knew it would be wrong... But I can't shake the feeling of wanting to at least talk to her for one last time... Not just through a simple water mirror, but face to face and that I could feel her embrace around me."
