Hayami's POV
I still find it unbelievable. Finding out that I was pregnant with Hiei's child and not just one, but two. We were having twins together. Although, I'm still worried and scared for their lives since I would be fighting in this tournament and as a soon to be mother, if anyone would consider, it's my responsibility to care for the young. Their existence is what surprised me, especially their timing in becoming a part of the world. I just hope that the world me and Hiei's children would live in is something more that they deserve than what we had growing up.
"Now in the next match of group B in the second round of the main tournament is a very interesting pairing! Hayami, the daughter of Lady Wakumi and the newly titled Queen of Ocean is fighting Shigure, one of the fighters under the supervision of Mukuro!" The announcer said,
"May I have your attention please. At this time we ask that Hayami from group 27 and Shigure from group 13, please make your way to the eighteenth battle arena immediately for round commencement. Again, we're asking that Hayami from group 27 and Shigure from group 13, please make your way to the eighteenth battle arena immediately for round commencement."
I heard my name being called through the speakers and to my surprise, I'm against the doctor of doom himself.
Shigure.
At least I could show him what I feel about the stupid contract that nearly ended my relationship with Hiei and my life.
"Good luck and be careful, Hayami." Takumi said to me,
"Yeah. You might wanna give him a good bruise for making my baby brother agree to that contract." Homura said as she placed a hand on my shoulder. "Either way, come back alive in one piece."
"I will." I said to them as I faced the man who raised me. "Father."
He brought me into a comforting hug despite the other fighters eyeing on us. "Be careful out there, dear. I don't want to loose my daughter and my growing grandchildren in the fight." Father said as I hugged him back,
"I'll come back. Count on it." I said to him as we broke the hug.
"Be extra cautious, Hayami." Yaketsuku said as he placed a comforting hand on my head and smiled, "A lot of people here care about you. Especially my son. Don't disappoint them and do your best."
I smiled at my future father in law. "Thank Yaketsuku." I said to him as I walked away from the people whom I've grown close with for the past year towards the arena.
'Tetsuya.' I called my water dragon,
'What is it my Lady?'
'During this fight that I'm going to have, I need you to protect my children at any cost. I can't bare to think of what would've happen to them because of my recklessness.'
'Do you wish for me to transfer some of my power to aid you in battle?' He asked,
'I'm still unsure of the moment, Tetsuya.' I told him truthfully. 'Fighting in this tournament was not just to fight to take the crown. It was never in my intention to do so. I suppose defeating those demon who desire wickedness is the main reason and to prevent chaos to the three worlds. At least it could increase the chances of one of our allies in victory.'
'Hayami, you're fighting for a reason and you have found it within you. I'm merely a spirit created by your mother and yourself. Although it is not my place to decide on what you do, but as your inner self, you must fight for what you believe in and stand side by side with those you care about. Not only are you fighting for yourself, but you're fighting for your children's future. A future that they deserve.' Tetsuya said, his words reminding me of what Genkai used to say.
