Parent Wedding pt. 2

Hayami's POV

It was now the day before the wedding and we've all gathered at the park to practice the walk. Yusuke was stubborn to even come until Keiko dragged him here with Puu on his head. Kuwabara and Shizuru showed up as well, just an excuse for the orange haired teen to see Yukina, since Hiei and mother fetched her and Genkai from the temple. Kurama came later with Ranumi after school was finished. Botan even came down from spirit down to join us.

Right now, the organizers for the wedding are setting up the place as we all sat and have a small picnic near the area.

"I'm so excited for you two's big day tomorrow." Botan squealed, referring to my parents,

"We're very happy as well that all of you would come." Mother said as she took a bite of the sandwiches me and Ranumi prepared,

"Well might as well enjoy this than being in school all day." Yusuke said drink from his water bottle,

"Let me guess, you skipped." I deadpan, causing him to choke on the water he was drinking,

"He did." Keiko said, "He even skipped detention."

"Well that's Yusuke for you." Ranumi chuckled,

"Easy for you to say, flower girl. You've never been even late or never skipped school for being a perfect student." Yusuke said to her,

"That's not true. If I'm being completely honest here, I was almost late a few times and I had skipped school during your mission in maze castle and during the days of the dark tournament." Ranumi explained, "Even so, I still managed to maintain my grades and still live my life... despite the numerous attention I get almost everyday in school." She said with a bit of annoyance,

"Why's that, Ranumi?" Yukina asked in concern,

"Actually, Ranumi and myself our quite popular in Meiou High." Kurama said, "Boys would want to ask her out while the girls would sometimes envy her or some would want to be her friend."

"That goes for you too, Mr. Minamino. You have your own fan club and girls loves you. Boys looks up and try to be like you just for the girls to notice them." Ranumi pointed out,

"Not to mention both top students with the highest grade." I added remembering how Ranumi told me about her grades oboe being second highest to Kurama's,

"Sounds like you two are like celebrities in your school. Good reputation and all." Kuwabara said,

"Yes, Yusuke you should really follow their examples, at least then you could be a great student." Genkai teased making the detective glare at her,

"GET OFF ME GRANDMA!!!" Yusuke said to her and Kuwabara laughed as well,

"That goes the same for you baby brother, if you wanna pass the mid term exams." Shizuru deadpan,

"Aw come on Shizuru, I'm also trying my best!" Kuwabara pouted in embarrassment,

We chuckled as I looked up the Sakura tree to where Hiei was napping on one of its branch, having Lala with him. My thoughts went back to what me, mother and Ranumi talked about yesterday. The thought of marrying Hiei one day and having a life together.

It's true that I'm still afraid to leave my family since I have been protecting them for so long and had never thought of doing something that would make me feel happy. For twenty years I have been protecting my loved ones from danger that I was ready to put my life on the line for them, that it was the only thing I would endlessly do. But after reuniting with Hiei and Kurama, as well as meeting new friends along the way, my endless life endangering stopped.
