Ranumi's POV
"I honestly had fun at dinner tonight with your mother." I said as me and Kurama walked underneath a train bridge to keep us from getting wet from the sudden rain. "It was nice for her to offer that we'd come to her wedding, even though it's still in the fall."
After dinner, mother and father insisted that they would walk Shiori home to chat some more while we would go and enjoy ourselves. The four of us agreed letting Hiei and Hayami spend some time with each other alone; the same goes to me and Kurama. Though we didn't expected the sudden rain pouring in. I just hoped that everyone would find shelter.
"It is." Kurama agreed as he held my hand that was holding his arm, "I'm just happy that she was able to find someone to love other than myself. All I wanted was for her to find her own happiness."
I chuckled at that. "You know you're more precious to her than anything right." I said as I looked up at him, "Besides, just being her son I believe is the greatest happiness she could ever asked for. Shiori really is a kind and wonderful mother."
"Your mother is wonderful as well." He said which made me looked at him curious, "She always gives others a chance to change and help them find their reasons to keep on living." He said as he looked down at me with love in his eyes, "She's just as wonderful as you, water lily."
I smiled sweetly at him before suddenly sensing something following us, not far behind. I kept my gaze forward as Kurama gently but protectively brought me closer to him.
"Kurama." I whispered in worry to my boyfriend,
"I know, just keep calm, water lily." Kurama whispered back as we kept walking forward in silence,
We walked in silence after ten steps before stopping. The ones following us also stopped a few feet behind us.
"You must be stealthier than that to surprise us." Kurama said in warning. Both of us turned around to face three figures who are standing motionless with mask covering their faces. "I hope you have good reason for approaching stranger." He said,
The man in the middle reached out something from underneath his mask clothing and showed a small bright orb.
"For you." The stranger said as the orbs floated towards Kurama, "A spirit of words from Mr. Yomi." He said which shocked Kurama in hearing that name.
"You said Yomi?!" Kurama asked in shock but did not received an answer,
"Our work is done." The stranger said before the three of them hopped and disappeared from our sight,
"Yomi was once your second in command a thousand years ago right?" I asked him as he held the orb in his hand, remembering that he once told me as Yoko that Yomi was his right hand man in their raids.
Kurama nodded in answer before staring at the orb with concern, worry and question in his eyes. Though, there is one thing I'm certain if he received this, he must've heard us returning to demon world when they fought Sensui.
Kurama and I went to one of the pillars near a small box crate as he throws the orb towards the pillar across us. The orb shattered as an ink like paint made in a small splash, it started to draw an image of the demon. The image of Yomi.
