The forest began to thin out and the trees became less packed and congested. As they approached the next town, it was clear that they all had something on their minds.
Li XiWang cuddled the little kitten, spoiling it rotten. It didn't mind Wei Ying or Hui Gai but was on edge, hissing if it thought either of them got too close.
She responded to Xiao Mao whenever Li XiWang called her, patiently following her on her tiny paws, her white fur fluffier then ever after the improvement to her diet.
They entered a town called Huang Tai, that on first sight appeared to be of a medium size, but as they followed countless paths, journeying to its centre, Wei Ying thought it was quite big.
There was a crowd of people, both men and women, milling around a stall in the centre of the marketplace. Of course, this piqued Wei Ying's interest, and he had to find out why.
There was a lot  of shouting and jostling, as the crowd surged forward in an effort to get closer to one man, as he stood among them. While his robes were non-descript and unremarkable, there was a white diamond embedded in the centre of his forehead, that shone like fire.
He seemed friendly enough, but when he saw Wei Ying, he stopped smiling immediately and became utterly serious.
He held up his hands to silence the people, who became quiet out of curiosity rather than wanting to.
"How may I help you, Young Masters?" He bowed low.
"What exactly are you doing here? Why are there so many people here?"
The man studied him carefully, noting his black and red robes, and Chenqing stuffed into the belt at his waist. Then, he stared at the man standing next to him, dressed in all white, looking beautiful and icy as a glacier.
Lan Zhan was currently glaring at the man who had dared to stare at his own beautiful husband.
The man quickly moved onto their companions, spending an equal amount of time looking at them.
All the while, the crowd stayed quiet. A few murmurs came to their ears, but nothing clear until the man bowed again.
"Would you like to meet the Stargazer?" He said.
"Yes!" A voice said behind Wei Ying.
And someone actually pushed him!
"You must! It's not every day that one gets to meet the Stargazer." Other voices joined in to encourage them.
"What shall we do, Lan Zhan? Do you think we should?" Wei Ying whispered, before being nudged again.
Lan Zhan glared at whoever it was.
"What does Wei Ying want to do?" He turned back after apparently satisfied that the offender would not try again.
"Let's see what's so great about him, shall we?" Wei Ying beamed, and entwined their fingers together.
"Mn."
The stranger led them to a tent next to the stall, made from a heavy black fabric. Once inside, the flap was sealed, and the outside noises stayed out. It was unnerving and peaceful at the same time.
"Please sit." The man said, and poured some tea for all of them.
"What is this?" Wei Ying asked, politely.
"It is a tea, but with an added ingredient. Please do not be distressed, for it is only an aid to what you shall see, if our Stargazer deems it a possibility for a reading." The stranger smiled, but it did nothing to make anyone feel safer.
