Kurt was coming back today and I was not ready in the slightest. I had contradicting feelings when it came to seeing Frances. I loved babies and I wanted to see her, but I didn't want to see her as Kurt and Courtney's baby. And I prepared myself since Courtney was probably going to be over, too.
I hated Courtney with ever living fiber in my fucking body. I despised her and everything she stood for. Everyone knew her because of her stupid little band, but she also did a lot of drugs and everyone knew it. You could just tell by the way she acted and her fucking loud, obnoxious voice.
"Ruby!" Shelli snapped her fingers in front of me.
"Sorry. I was thinking about how much I hated Courtney."
"You know you're going to have to put up with her?"
"Yep."
"And by that, I mean nice to her."
"If she's rude to me, I'll be rude to her."
"Where's Dave?"
"Probably getting Lorelai ready upstairs."
"I'M READY!" Lorelai's feet stomped down the stairs.
I smirked at Shelli. "I'm psychic."
I gripped the edge of the couch and stood up.
"You okay?" She asked me.
"My back fucking hurts. Constantly. I can't wait to get this baby out of me."
Dave and Krist came into the living room with Lorelai and then the doorbell rang-we all knew who it was. Krist kindly got up to get it and I could hear the greeting coming from the door. I didn't like the fact that Kurt showed up with Courtney.
I felt something warm on my thigh and looked down to see Dave's hand on it.
"Relax, it'll be alright," He assured me.
"I hope so," I breathed shakily.
I heard Courtney's high heels clacking against the tile floor. I rolled my eyes. I was ashamed of myself-I was already being a dick to her and we hadn't even said anything to each other.
I saw Kurt turn around the hallway and his eyes lit up as soon as he saw me. He had the carseat hanging on his arm, so he couldn't walk as fast. Courtney was right behind him wearing a dress and a coat with high heels. Her hair was atrocious. She wasn't ugly, but she wasn't pretty.
"DADDY!" Lorelai ran up to Kurt and hugged his leg.
"Shh, there's a baby asleep," He whispered and lifted up a blanket that was covering the baby.
"Is that a baby?" She whispered, kneeling down to look at Frances.
"Yes. She's sleeping."
"Mommy, there's a baby!" She whispered to me.
Before I could respond, my legs were starting to grow weak and shake and my back was hurting, so I carefully sat back down.
"This is so nostalgic," Dave told me.
"What do you mean?"
"When you were pregnant with Lorelai. You constantly had people help you sit down when you were, like, as pregnant as you are now."
"Well, I was also really tiny, so it was harder to navigate around. Now, I have a bunch of baby fat."
"Oh, be quiet," Kurt stood right in front of me and leaned down to kiss me.
