I had told Kurt that I wasn't going to be at the concert so that I could surprise him. Dave had helped me out with getting to Seattle.

I didn't take Lorelai with me, though. I wouldn't trust it. I didn't know what type of shit went down in Seattle.

When I arrived at the cafe, they were already playing. I shuddered and didn't want to push my way through the crowd, so I stayed in the back and didn't mind-I could see them perfectly.

The energy there was captivating. They had control over the audience. The audience was screaming and yelling and jumping up and down.

The band itself was great. Kurt's loud, screeching guitar mixed in with his vocals sounded spectacular. The drums were just so loud-I could tell Dave was hitting them hard and was enjoying himself. Krist was the calmest out of them all. He was just grinning the whole time and enjoying himself. They all were enjoying themselves. They were so aggressive and I loved it.

The concert felt so long-especially since I didn't know any of their songs. It was a total of two hours, but it felt much, much longer.

After they finished, I went to go walk away and accidentally bumped into a tall woman with blond hair that was all over the place.

"Watch where you're going, bitch!" She spat.

"I'm sorry."

"Oh, it's fine," She chuckled. "That show was fucking good."

"Yeah, it was."

"Do you know the singer's name?"

"Kurt Cobain?"

"Yeah. I'm going to get him."

My heart dropped. "What do you mean?"

"I'll get him," She walked away and I just stood there shocked.

"Ruby!" I heard someone yell.

I turned around and saw Krist towering over me. He grabbed my hand and we ran backstage.

"Go hide in the dressing room," He whispered. "Hide behind the door. Kurt is about to come in. Scare him."

I smiled and did as he said. As I waited there, I kept thinking about that girl. What did she mean by her getting him? Wasn't he already mine? I mean, she was pretty. Maybe Kurt would see her and start to grow feelings for her.

I didn't want to think about that. I wanted to throw up at the thought of that.

Just then, the door opened. I jumped out from behind the door and screamed, "BOO!"

A hand was met with my face and a stinging sensation grew onto my cheek.

I gasped and just stood there.

"OH MY FUCKING GOD!" Kurt yelled. "RUBY! I'M SO SORRY!"

I started laughing. "That fucking hurt."

"I'm so sorry! God!"

"I guess you're a woman-beater now."

"What are you doing here?! I thought you weren't coming!"

"Why? Were you expecting someone else?"

"No," He kissed me and examined my cheek. "Does it hurt?"

"It stings."

"Yeah, it's a little red. Come on."

I followed him out of the door and we stopped in front of Krist and Dave.

"Rub-HOLY FUCK!" Dave shouted. "WHAT HAPPENED TO YOUR FACE?!"
