"Sammy, tell Harry not to honk the next time he comes here. I don't want to start a fight with the neighbours over this." My mom says angrily while I run down the stairs.

"Yeah, I'll tell him. Bye!" I say and grab my jacket and go outside.

"Samuel, you're home at 1 o'clock, alright?" My mom reminds me. "If Caleb agrees to stay with you, you can stay longer."

I don't need a babysitter. It's annoying that I have to be home earlier than last time.

I nod and close the door behind me. I just finished work and now we'll go to the mall.

"Sammy!" Carla greets me as I get in. She sits in the passenger seat and I'm in the back.

"Hi guys. Harry, don't honk. If you honk again my mom will kill me and you." I say to Harry.

"Carla honked." He says in defense.

"Sorry." She smiled sweetly.

I haven't been shopping in a long, long time. I mostly wear my black jeans and band shirts and hoodies everyday anyways. I usually order my t-shirts online, knowing I usually need a small size.

Shopping turns into Carla obsessing over everything she sees and me carrying Harry's bags because he buys so much. He even bought a fresh set of tennis balls.

When we pass a little jewelry shop Carla convinces me to get my ear pierced. Yes, I seriously agree.

I get a helix piercing. It costs 40 bucks, but it is so worth it. Harry says he could have given me one for free, but I'm never gonna let a friend pierce me ever again.

"You would have pierced him?" Carla asks, laughing. "And then you probably would have just fainted again." She teases him and Harry rolls his eyes.

It didn't hurt as bad as I thought it would. I hope my parents don't freak out. I will just hide it underneath my hair or tell them it's fake. I will be eighteen in a month anyway.

Afterwards we all get smoothies and eat sandwiches. The vegan option tastes like cardboard, but I guess I can live with that. After we finish eating, Caleb's already here to pick up Carla.

She's wearing a green dress and thick thighs to keep her warm. She also threw on the coat she just bought today. She sprayed it with a chanel perfume in a shop. I personally hate perfumes, especially the ones for women. Just thinking about the time half my class was obsessed with perfumes makes me almost gag.

Caleb is wearing his usual clothes, black pants and a grey sweater and leather jacket.

After Carla leaves, Harry and I are left with Carla's and Harry's shopping bags. We decide to bring them to Harry's car. Turns out it was a bad idea to park outside because the wind is pretty strong and it's no fun to carry five shopping bags in windy weather.

The wind also hurts my newly pierced ear.

"How do you think the date will go?" I ask Harry as soon as we have all the stuff stored in the trunk of his car.

"Carla is obsessed with your brother, I'm pretty sure they get along great. I've never seen her so in love." He says. "And you know Carla by now. She falls in love with anyone. But this is more than just a crush."

"Oh god." I say. I really don't want them to date.

"She'll be your sister in law." He jokes.

"It's so weird."

"Yep, I think so, too. I don't know anything about Caleb. What's he like?"

"I don't know. He's nice." I say.
